1961 Chris-Craft 17’ Deluxe Utility Ski Boat

"1961 17-foot Chris Craft Deluxe Utility Ski Boat.

This is a Deluxe Ski / Utility Classic Chris Craft.
It's one of the last few years that these beautiful mahogany boats were made.

I purchased this boat last year from the owner Who had it for over 30 years and have never had time to take it out: here is his rundown:

It has factory-applied fiberglass overlay from the
waterline down (so I was told when I bought it)
which protects the bottom and makes it much
easier to clean and maintain.

I purchased this boat from the second owner. I
went through it when I bought it and removed
everything from the interior except the drive train
I stripped the bilge paint and checked for any
damage or rot in the wood structure.
Everything was in good shape so I repainted the bilge with original style paint.
Through the years, I have repaired, refurbished, re-chromed, polished and replaced too many parts to list (which I can tell you all about if you
decide to buy it).
I had a custom trailer made for it and I have had
the boat garaged or covered at all times. (Comes w cover)

Sometime before I bought this boat, the engine was replaced with a 350 cubic inch engine (it originally had a 283 V-8). Most of the original
accessory parts were re-used, so it has the Chris Craft exhaust manifolds etc.

Some things were upgraded to make it more
dependable and safe (i.e. modern carburetor with electric choke, bilge fan, etc.)

The interior is very nice. The finish on the wood
could use a refresh as I haven't taken it out in a
couple of years. This boat looks great but is not
"Trailer Princess" or "Look-Don't-Touch" caliber. I love this boat and have enjoyed using it with the family tubing, sking, just cruising the lake, etc.

I have A LOT of historical information about this
boat, including sales brochures, as well as lots of spare parts. This is a wonderful, dependable, easy-to-care-for boat that has more than enough power to pull
tubes or skiers and still have the classic looks of a old-style Chris Craft (think "Kennedys and
Camelot").
This is a well-made classic boat that will contact to provide boating fun in style for decades to come.
