The exterior of the vessel appeared to be in reasonable condition. The windlass showed to operate well during photographing. The interior sea decking appeared to be very recent and free of any stains or damage. This 1991 Sea Ray 280 Weekender is in overall good shape for it's age. Paint is a bit faded but looks like a good buff will bring it back. Bottom was painted a couple of years ago and seller states it could use it again soon. Seller stated that the previous owner replaced the original engines twin Marine Power 5.7 325 hp V8 engines. in December 23 the port engine was diagnosed with no compression on cylinder 6 and 8. The valve covers removed in January 24 and had 2 stuck valves. Local machine shop remanned the head and replaced 6 valves. The seller is the second owner and is selling it because he's not able to use it. The seller purchased it in 2021 and had the starboard engine and the outdrives rebuilt shortly thereafter. The seller just discovered the port engine needs to be rebuilt, priced accordingly! The mechanic believes it's a blown head gasket. On the day that the port engine went out the sellers were on the water and had stopped for a while. They started it up, and went into reverse and then drive. It died in the shift and never started back. The seller is the second owner and is selling it because he's not able to use it. The seller purchased it in 2021 and had the starboard engine and the outdrives rebuilt shortly thereafter. The seller just discovered the port engine needs to be rebuilt, priced accordingly! The mechanic believes it's a blown head gasket. On the day that the port engine went out the sellers were on the water and had stopped for a while. They started it up, and went into reverse and then drive. It died in the shift and never started back. They initially thought it was the starter based on the sound, but when they looked at the motor a fluid was present, but they are not sure what it was or where it came from. This 2001 Sea Ray 280 Sundancer comes with a pair of Mercruiser 4.3L EFI engines and an aluminum triple axle trailer! The 280 Sundancer has been a very popular model for Sea Ray as it is easily handled as a day boat and is capable of being used for longer cruising as well. On deck, there is a spacious cockpit with fold-away transom bench and aft-facing cockpit bench. On the starboard side there is a wet bar sink with storage underneath. Forward is a swivel helm seat with flip-up bolster and a large companion lounge to port. The cabin is spacious for a 28' boat with good natural light. To port there is a large dinette that is convertible to a double berth with a well laid out galley to starboard. The full galley features Corian countertops, sink, electric stovetop with cover, microwave, refrigerator, and ample storage throughout the cabin. Forward there is a large V-berth. The exterior gel coat was clean. The keel and bottom of the hull look damage free. The swim platform has sustained some dock rash with noticeable repairs. The lower units look to be in good shape with no obvious corrosion. The cockpit has foam decking material that looks nice, however, it has been trimmed to fit. The exterior cushions have some worn-out tears and staining. The cover looks to be in good condition, the Bimini top may need stitching repair. The helm looks decent, there are some cracked gauges, and the main center LCD readout looks inoperable. The cabin is showing its wear and tear. There are some stains and rips in the cushions. The cabin sump pump is missing, and the bilge under the steps is full of water. The mid-berth had what appeared to be the aft bench seat stored inside. The engine compartment was clean. The hatch lift supports are missing. The starboard engine looks original and the port engine assembly has clearly been changed.
