Note: I can help you obtain financing and I can help with delivery as well, provided you're not that far. 2016 Chaparral 246 SSI, NOTE: I've worked it out with Chaparral and you will end up with the same 1st owner warranty I have as if you bought the boat new from a dealer. Verification will be provided. Buyer's remorse sale. This was my first stern drive boat and it's just not for me. I have to call this boat used because it was transferred to me but this boat is as close to new as you can get without paying much more to a dealer. Take a look around and you'll see I'm the best value on a 246 SSI even if you go back a couple of years! I took delivery the end of June and ran it 4 times (about 9 hours on the engine, break-in procedures followed). This boat has the 300 hp Volvo Penta GEN 5 engine with their stainless steel duo prop set which is more powerful and more fuel efficient than all that came before it. The best part is the closed cooling (like your car's engine) which makes winterization as easy as it is with a 4 stroke outboard (which doesn't get any easier). With a 2015 or older you have to follow a multi-step process and wrench down deep in the engine compartment to winterize. Most people brave enough to try it once end up paying a service from then on. With this boat you can go out on one of those unusually warm winter days and easily winterize it again, no biggie. There is a pdf file on Volvopenta's site with info and comparisons on the new vs the old generation engines. It should be easy to find on their site (links not allowed here). It's titled "Next Generation of Gasoline Engines." Scroll down about 2/3 of the way for a direct comparison chart where you will find the gen V is quicker and more fuel efficient than last year's same 300 hp model. I know I keep harping on this Gen 5 thing but read up on it and you'll see it is a big deal. Save many, many thousands of dollars over buying new. The original MSRP is over $87000. It's so new there are no registration numbers on the hull. Extra cost options include: Seagrass flooring which Chappy calls "beach weave." Cockpit and bow "Sunbrella" covers. Swim platform soft logo mat. Deluxe package (anchor with line, air pump for filling inflatables and premium bucket seats that swivel and slide with TOP mounted controls).
