2015 Adirondack Guideboat, A distinctively beautiful boat! This boat was handcrafted in Vermont of Cherry wood and Kevlar. It has caned seats and brass hardware. It is not your typical inexpensive metal or fiberglass canoe but a functional piece of American history. Adirondack guideboats were originally created in the mid 1800s for hunting and fishing in the Adirondack region of New York. The guideboat is a hybrid rowing boat, similar to a canoe, but with 8 Maple oars. It is unbelievably fast and a pleasure to row. This boat was purchased last year and used it less than 10 times, always garage kept. It sits on a Trailex model SUT220-S aluminum trailer and tows beautifully behind my small SUV. The boat only weighs 70 lbs and the trailer 125 lbs.While I would really like to keep it, my age and bad knees now make it impractical for me.
