Weight: Lighter than fiberglass or steel providing greater speed, reduced fuel consumption, and greater payload. Strength: Pound for pound it is stronger than fiberglass or steel. Will outlast both fiberglass and steel under the roughest conditions. Durability: Aluminum will dent under impact conditions that would rupture or crack steel and fiberglass. Aluminum is also virtually fireproof and will not absorb water. Repair: Dents can often be pounded out with a hammer or, if necessary, easily cut out and repaired. Customization: Because aluminum boats are not made from a mold, changes in design and modifications are much easier to accomplish. Maintenance: Aluminum is corosion resistant and does not need to be painted. Depreciation: Today's marine grade aluminum is virtually corosion free.
