2004 Azimut 50 Flybridge powered by twin Caterpilar C-12Introduced in 2004, the Azimut 50 is a high-style Italian cruising yacht (note the distinctive shark-fin windows) from a company that always seems to get it right. The 50 is a very polished and sophisticated yacht with sweeping lines, posh interior accommodations, and a comfortable ride. Her lavish wo-stateroom interior— most 50-foot flybridge yachts have three—is arranged with facing sofas in the main cabin, an amidships master stateroom with diagonal queen bed, two full heads, and a spacious forward stateroom with an island berth. The galley size depends on the layout: it’s very spacious in the two-stateroom configuration, but small when the third stateroom is added. While visibility from the lower helm is okay, the seating ergonomics are poor. Notably, Azimut’s satinfinished cherry joinery is more subdued than the flashy high-gloss woodwork found in most late-model yachts.
