Noted for her distinctive styling, a trawler in appearance only, the 44 is built on a modified V hull making her capable of cruising speeds well beyond those of traditional trawlers. Her appealing two stateroom interior features a well appointed salon with mahogany joinery and a lower helm with adjacent pilothouse door. Large main deck sliding side windows, create an open airy feeling. Rounded front windows greatly improve visibility. Wing doors close off the large cockpit from wind and spray. A mid ship starboard boarding door makes for easy boarding.
The 44 has a roomy bridge deck that can easily seat 8. Aft of the bridge deck is the boat deck which has a hinged mast with electric winch for launching the tender. Access to the deck can be closed off with a lockable Lexan hatch.
Top speed is approximately 27 mph. At a cruise speed of 22 mph, the 44 Swift Trawler will achieve approximately 1 mile per gallon. Her keel provides excellent tracking and some grounding protection, but without degrading turning performance. With a draft of 3'5", she is a very capable cruiser for island cruising or doing The Loop.
