1979 Bertram 38 Convertible Diesel
Price is not a misprint! Every once in a while we get lucky and find an older sport fish that has not been "beat up" and been very well maintained. Lots of upgrades (new cockpit, rebuilt engines, electronics, enclosure) make this 38 Bertram a true turn key boat. The cockpit is enormous and with 2 staterooms, she can be comfortable too. Best to see her in person! She is really nice and with her twin Cummins diesels, an really economical boat to run. Engine hours since major overhaul is only 128! 1987 Bertram Convertible Brand New ListingDistinctively styled and designed for the rigors of tournamentlevelfishing, the Bertram 37 Convertible was a popular boatduring her production years. Like all Bertrams of her era, the 37was built on a good-running deep-V hull—cored from the waterlineup—with moderate beam, a well-flared bow, and low cockpitfreeboard. Her well-appointed interior includes overhead rodstorage in the salon, over/under bunks in the small guest cabin,a walkaround island berth forward, and light oak cabinetry andwoodwork throughout. (Note that maple woodwork became standardbeginning in 1993.) The cockpit is big enough for severalanglers to fish without bumping elbows, and the flybridge providesexcellent sightlines fore and aft. Considered by many to be amongthe best in her class, the Bertram 37 receives high marks for hersuperb handling and exceptional performance. She’s also a reasonablyfast boat: 450hp GM 6V92s will cruise at 27 knots (30 knotstop), and later models with 550hp 6V92s will cruise at 30 knots(mid 30s wide open). Finally, Caterpillar 375hp diesels cruise at22–23 knots. Maybe not a “classic” Bertram design, but certainly ahighly regarded boat with many satisfied owners.
