1988 Formula 242 LS,This freshwater 26 foot boat is 95% restored with new paint and upholstery. It also received a complete transom rebuild along with a New 454 Magnum Mercruiser Motor and a New Bravo III Outdrive {two props} a few years ago. Trailer has been overhauled as well with bearings / lights / winch and tires/wheels. My high school friend bought it new in 1988 in Chattanooga and it has been fun bringing it back up to speed. 1987 Winner Boat with 17 1/2 foot walk-thru windshield with 165 Mercursier inboard/outboard motor and custom trailer. The last time we had the boat out it was running. Made a noise. We drove it in to the dock with no problems just making a noise. Had a boat repair friend look at it. He said gimbal bearing. He could not fix it as he did not have the tools at his home. The bearing is not expensive, its the labor. Husband's elderly mother got sick moved in for a few years then oldest daughter got married and youngest daughter was too busy with her friends so that pretty much ended our boating. Husband put new floor in, and had several seats covered the other seats are intact. Boat has bikini top. It also has a $500 stainless steel boat prop. Husband got motorcycle... lost interest in boat. So the boat has been in storage at least 6 years, but please don't let that scare you as husband is very peculiar about his toys. Gas was drained out to protect carburetor from old gas. Battery ran down. I do know when we bought it the man gave us paper showing the motor had been completely rebuilt and it is a motor is a dual system that uses antifreeze and is water cooled, if you understand what I'm talking about. Now anyone that has ever owned a boat knows they always need some work. So I cannot promise you it will run. That's why its priced so cheap.
