This classic vessel is perfect for trying your fishing hand or going for a float on the water. The Lone-Star fishing boat has some worn out seats, and areas with chipped paint. The motor runs well at low to mid throttle, but bogs down at higher throttle. A professional tune up would do wonders by getting the carburetor set-up properly (~$250 for a professional tune up). We never tried to pull anyone on skis or a tube with it, but after reading some boat enthusiast forums it appears that the 55HP Evinrude motor should be able to pull someone on skis or in a tube behind you. The boat has not been run in a year, but we would be happy to start up the motor for you if you are considering buying this boat. Feel free to contact me to set-up a meeting to see the boat in person. Features: - 3 fishing pole holsters - 2 5-gallon gas tanks - Electric start motor New Parts on a Classic Boat: - Windshield- Horn- Speedometer New parts on Boat Trailer: - Tires- Axle bearings- Axle seals History: We are not the original owners of this boat, but we have taken it out to Colorado lakes (high altitude) and been able to depend on the Lone-Star to perform well. The boat has been kept in good shape and has been tuned up over the years we have had it. Shipping: - Available for local pick-up. Payment: - Cash/ Check in person - PayPal

If you are not satisfied with a purchase from one of my ebay auctions, please send me an Email and tell me what you feel is wrong and how you feel I should fix it. I will do whatever it takes within reason to settle any legitimate complaint including a full refund of the purchase price. You can expect that if a material error is made in the item description, a 100% refund will be offered. I will consider a refund (full or partial) in other instances on a case-by-case basis based on the circumstances.SHIPPING/HANDLING/INSURANCE POLICYWhen S&H fees are determined during an eBay auction listing, it is my intent, in good faith, to recover 100% of the actual out-of-pocket expenses associated with the listing so that the Net Sale (Winning Bid plus the posted S&H Fee less Actual Expenses) will equal the final high bid amount. My expenses usually include expenses associated with packaging (box, shipping tape, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, etc) plus Postage, Listing Fee, Final Value Fee, Final Value Fee on Shipping, and PayPal Fee. By bidding on an item you agree to be bound by the conditions of sale and posted fees included in the Item description so long as the conditions/fees are not in violation of the eBay User Agreement or unlawful. When I unintentionally underestimate S&H expenses, the Seller absorbs the difference and when I unintentionally overestimate these expenses, the Buyer absorbs the difference. The S&H fees charged will always be slightly over or under actual after any given auction. Please try to keep in mind that the expenses associated with an eBay transaction include more than just postage costs. I hope that this policy meets with your approval. Please let me know if you have questions or comments. My current understanding of ebay policy is that Sellers are responsible for the delivery of an item purchased at auction until it is received by the Buyer. This means that items lost in the mail, items damaged in transit, or items missing from a package shipped in good faith become the 100% responsibility of the Seller who is expected to cover 100% of the loss. This policy in my humble opinion places an undue burden of delivery failures on the Seller. Therefore, it is my policy Effective 8/17/2014 to increase the fixed S&H fees in my auctions to include insurance on all items for which the final value fee exceeds $50.00. In these tough economic times, I am experiencing an increased incidence of tampering with packages in transit and with items (in whole or in part) being removed from packages in transit. The overwhelming majority of my shipments are completed without incident but I regret to report that this situation is changing so I must act accordingly.SHIPMENT POLICY TO BUYERS OUTSIDE THE USAI prefer to sell and ship to Buyers in the United States due primarily to the requests received daily seeking additional postage estimates for shipments outside the USA. I simply don't have the time or inclination to handle the many such requests received so I have developed this detailed policy to describe the process in detail. I am willing to sell and ship to Buyers outside the USA under these circumstances and subject to these terms: (1) the Buyer agrees to pay the fixed S&H fee posted in the auction listing PLUS the additional postage to the international address using either USPS-Priority Mail International or USPS-First Class International (for packages weighing less than 4 Lbs); (2) the Seller agrees to provide the estimated weight of the package if requested by the Buyer during the auction; (3) the Seller will complete a "Senders Declaration" (Customs Form) with a description of the item purchased and its value. Please do not ask me to declare that an item is a gift when it is not or to report a value less than the final sales price; (4) the Seller reserves the right to require shipment by Registered Mail or with Insurance equal to the winning bid amount on items valued in excess of $150.00; (5) the Buyer is encouraged to visit the USPS International Postage calculator at www.usps.gov using the package weight provided by the Seller to determine total postage; (6) the Seller reserves the right after the auction ends to use his best judgement in determining the most appropriate mode of shipment in the absence of instructions from the Buyer. By bidding on an item, International Buyers must agree to be bound by this policy. ***EXAMPLE*** The auction listing shows a S&H&INS fee of $26.95 calculated for shipment via FedEx within the USA. The winning bidder requests shipment to CANADA. For a package measuring 25L x 18W x 8H Inches and weighing 24 Lbs, the total postage to Canada calculated at www.usps.gov including $400.00 Insurance is $52.80 (47.30 POSTAGE + 5.50 INSURANCE) via USPS-Priority Mail International (6 to 10 Days Transit Time). If this package had been shipped FedEx within the USA, the total postage including Insurance would've been about $11.25 so the Additional postage to Canada is $41.55 (52.80 less 11.25) and the total S&H&INS fee due in this case would be $68.50 (26.95 S&H&INS + 41.55 Additional Postage to Canada). This international customer would pay the S&H&INS fee posted in the auction listing ($26.95) PLUS the additional postage to Canada ($41.55) as calculated in this example.eBAY FEEDBACK POLICYYou can expect that I will post Feedback after all ebay transactions because this is the best way to ensure appropriate Buyer/Seller conduct within the eBay community. Since ebay suggests that Buyers and Sellers contact each other within 3 Days, it is my policy to send a FRIENDLY REMINDER Email about 72 Hours after the auction ends if the Buyer has not acknowledged the ebay Invoice generated soon after the auction ends. It is my policy to open an UNPAID ITEM CASE (UIC) with eBay through the Resolution Center after 4 Days if payment has not been received unless the Buyer has responded in some way. The filing of an UIC begins a "work out" period during which time the transaction can still be completed if payment is received. The Buyer is notified by Email immediately by eBay when a UIC is filed by the Seller. I reserve the right to relist the item during the work out period if it is my reasonable expectation that the transaction will not be completed. This reasonable expectation will be a function of how quickly a Buyer reacts to the eBay UIC notice. Buyers who keep me informed through the ebay messaging system during payment delays can expect reasonable and fair accommodation by this Seller.ENDING AUCTIONS EARLY POLICYOne of the primary reasons that I enjoy selling on ebay is that I'm regularly surprised by the completed-auction prices on many of the items that I list which many times exceed the value I had in mind. For this primary reason, I have a long-standing policy of not ending auctions early ONCE A BID HAS BEEN PLACED. I am willing to consider adding a Buy-It-Now (BIN) option to any active auction BEFORE A BID HAS BEEN PLACED if a Bidder interested in a BIN option would be willing to suggest a BIN price that I feel is reasonable. Closing auctions for reasons other than BIN creates unnecessary friction because many bidders like to wait until the last minute to place a bid. ebay works best when auctions are allowed to run their course so please do not ask me to make an exception.AUCTION ITEM RETURN POLICYI make a good faith effort to accurately describe the items up for sale in my ebay auctions, but if I make a material error in the item description to such an extent that you would not have entered a bid had that error not been made, I will issue a 100% refund of the purchase price including the S&H immediately upon the return of the item. Even for items that are correctly described, most of my auctions now offer a 14 Day No Hassle Return. In some return instances, I may not require the return of the item but in those instances in which I do request the return of the item, the return postage will be the responsibility of the Buyer. In order to claim a refund, the Buyer must provide notice to the Seller "pdbridges" no more than 14 days after the auction ends then is responsible for returning the item so that the Seller receives it no more than 17 days after the auction ends. My return address is: Philip D Bridges, PO Box 605, Cartersville, GA 30120-0605 (USPS) and my return physical address is: Philip D Bridges, 23 N Wall St, Cartersville, GA 30120-3331 (FedEx/UPS).REDUCED SHIPPING FEES FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES POLICYBuyers who win more than one auction may request and can then expect to receive a reduction in postage for all items purchased after the first item that can be combined in one box and shipped together. In some instances, it is not possible to combine shipments but this is usually the exception and not the rule. Please keep in mind that the increased weight of items combined in one package has an impact on the shipping fee (that's why a reduction and not an elimination of postage is applied when multiple items are combined in one package). Since invoices are usually sent immediately after an auction ends, the Buyer would need to let the Seller know by email that an additional purchase is planned. Once the second and/or subsequent auctions end, those invoices will include a remark about the shipping reduction included therein. Please note that it is the Buyer's obligation to identify the affected auctions and to request the shipping reduction.FEE REDUCTION FOR LOCAL PICKUPIn some instances, it may be desirable for a Buyer to request local pick up of an item for which a fixed S&H fee is posted in an auction listing. The Buyer should notify the Seller before the auction ends that local pick up is requested. It is then up to the Seller to set the time and place of delivery. In such instances, the posted S&H fee will be reduced but not eliminated.PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR POSTAGE QUOTES OUTSIDE THE USAYou will notice that the S&H fees in my auctions are set up for shipments within the USA. I am still willing to ship to Buyers outside the USA subject to the additional postage as detailed in these policy statements. I wish that I had the time and energy to quote postage rates to potential buyers outside the USA who quite often and regularly request such quotes but I regret that I do not. I can tell you that in all cases, I use the USPS International postage calculator. You can expect that I will follow my policy and charge ONLY the additional postage above what would otherwise have been charged to ship within the USA.

Classic Performance Hull Better hurry! Recycling begins in September.Hull in good shape. Needs interior. The Sidewinder trademark (for boats) was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on January 6, 1969, under the name of Los Altos Marine Incorporated, located at 4898 El Camino Real, Los Altos, california. In their 1969 model full colour brochure, Sidewinder Boats claimed to be the world's largest designer/producer of V-bottom ski boats, with manufacturing facilities in California and Canada. Built for speed, Sidewinders were designed for the ultimate in racing, skiing, and personal pleasure. World record holder, Ken Baker, had designed two high performance hulls - the famous V bottom and the new tunnel. These hulls were multi-laminated and assembled by hand. Variety and choice were the order of the day with standard and deluxe versions, thirty-two colour combinations, and power plants from outboard through inboard-outboard and jet available. Appointed with choices of metalflake trim, racing stripes, tuck and roll wrap around vinyl seating, and colour keyed all weather carpeting, these stylish, powerful, and manoeuvrable boats turned heads at many a beach. (In fact they still do!) Models available in 1969 were the V- bottom, low profile (Lo Pro) designs in 16 and 18 ft. lengths. Both could be had in the Deluxe version (16 ft. at 750 lb. and 18 ft. at 900 lb.) or the "stripped down" (100 lb. lighter) Standard versions. They could be had in outboard (135 hp max for the16 and 150 hp max for the 18), inboard/outboard (140 hp max for the 16 and 225 hp max for the 18) or jet drive (350 hp max for the 16 and 500 hp max for the 18 - although text in the brochure claims up to 600 horsepower was available!) Engines up to 455 cu. in. could be had. The tunnel model version, used predominately for racing, was available in either a 15 ft. or 17 ft. length, and could be custom built for single, double and triple outboard engine classes. The revolutionary Super Sidewinder 16/18 ft. design was filed for a patent (by Ken Baker and Ronald Plescia) in the US on October 17, 1969 and granted patent on November 3, 1970 (Patent Number 219,118). Subsequent patent designs were filed and granted for the 14 ft. Super, XL deep-vee, and XL Tri-hull. In 1970, Sidewinder relocated from Los Altos, up the road to 3545 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. In 1970 and '71 boats were also manufactured in Murfreesboro, tennessee. Meanwhile Sidewinders were being manufactured under the Cobra name, by California Fiberglass Limited in British Columbia, Canada. In 1971, Ken Baker, president of Sidewinder Marine, Inc. in Palo Alto, California was in litigation over a lawsuit filed by Sidewinder Marine against twenty manufacturers, who had copied the revolutionary Super Sidewinder design, first produced in 1970. Imitators included Marlin, Tahiti, Wriedt, and Taylor. In 1971/72 production moved from Palo Alto to Anderson, CA. and by July 1972, at least four manufacturers had admitted infringement on the Sidewinder design patents. About 1971 Canadian Sidewinder production moved to Ontario, where, by 1972, they were manufactured as Sidewinders - not Cobras, by California Glass Marine. In 1974 the Thompson Boat Company purchased manufacturing rights for Sidewinder boats and continued to manufacture them under the Sidewinder banner at Peshtigo, wisconsin. Later Sidewinders (by this time only the 16 and 18 ft. Super models) were built by Thompson in St. Charles, michigan and finally in Swan Creek, Michigan. In Canada the last Sidewinders were made in the late 1980's and California Glass Marine folded in the early '90's. The last US Sidewinder (the 18SS) appeared in the 1990 Thompson Boat Company brochure. Thompson met its demise in September 2002, when the assets were sold in a liquidation auction. 1969 Information Call for details. Layaway available on most all boats. LML 11.1.11........... Typhoon and the people we met treated us like royalty, rolling out the Red Carpet. Major 86's Restoration She had a major restoration on her in 1986 and received new mahogany shear planks, mahogany transom planks, deck beams, teak over plywood deck, mahogany gunwale planks, reinstalled bowsprit, new dawg house, and interior. Detailed Condition Report Some time in early 2000’s she was improperly stored inside a warehouse on the east coat for wintering, and it was to warm. She showed signs of plank separation as would be expected. At that point a decision was made (not by me, some other owner?) to lay a fiberglass sheath over the planks. I don’t know why they didn’t simply repack the planks and float her. Important: I drilled a new thru hole for the Bronze Depth transducer in 2007 and the wood was perfect. No water damage, no sogginess, no mold it was like brand new wood. I have never had a problem with her, and amazingly enough she is drier than the newer plastic boat I own. If you wanted to, you could remove the fiberglass barrier which was attached with Epoxy glue and restore her original wood planking finish. I considered it myself, but never got around to it. Shipping If you decide to ship her, we can assist you in hauling the boat out, stepping the mast, securing all items and supervise her loading on a properly setup and permitted delivery truck. There would be 2 sets of costs which are not included in the auction! 1) The first set of costs are the boat yards. This includes the haul out fees, and crane fees required to load the boat on the truck, plus removal of the mast which requires a crane and one additional hired, qualified boat hand. Estimated $1200. 2) The second set of fees is for the Owner's agent to supervise and assist in the complete process. $600 The acutal hiring / contracting of the shipping company would be soley the buyer's responsibility. Those costs vary, but shipping it back to the East Coast will most likely cost about $5K when all is said and done. Survey If you require a survey with a haul out, the yard fees will be an estimate $400 for the first day, then additional fees for layaway days thereafter. Although if the surveyor is scheduled correctly, it shouldn't require more than one day. There will also be a $250 fee for the captain reuired to move the boat to the haulout ramp, and back. The cost of the surveyor can vary, estimated cost of at least $300 - $500. The whole proposition estimated $1000 -1200. Generally the buyer selects a surveyor to ensure there is no bias to the owner in the report. The survey is paid for by the potential buyer. Special Notes The Shipmate Wood Stove & Heat Shield are not inlcuded in the sale and the oil lamp featured in the pictures is not included. A simple inexpensive alcohol or propane stove can be installed if you desire. Sale & Payment Terms The boat is sold as is with not warranty, and all sales are final. We accept a bank check, cashiers check or cash. The deposit must be paid at the completion of the auction through Ebay via CC or PayPal. The final payment will be held until the payment clears. A personal check can take up to 14 business days. A cashier's check will now require a 3 day hold due to the massive fraud using them. Upon completion of payment clearance, we will issue the buyer the Federal Documentaion with our authorized notary required, via Fed Ex mailer. If our assistance is required to haul the boat, step the mast, and assist the truck driver, these fees can be included in the initial payment or you can wait until after you receive the Federal Title Docs, and then issue another payment to cover these costs. All yard fees are to be paid directly to them. Our preferred yard is Channel Islands Boat Yard. They have pulled Typhoon many times, and are the cheapest, closest yard in town. Slip Fees The boat is currently on a county slip in Oxnard. It is possible they might allow it to be transfered to the new owner, but no guarantee. You will have to fill out all the appropriate applications, etc. The current slip rent is $372 per month. We can assist you and leave it under our name, if you continue to make the additional monthly payments until you can successfully apply, or have the boat moved. If the sale occurs before the next month's payment is due, there is no charge to you until the next month's payment is required. We also pay $30 a month to have the bottom cleaned, and $20 per month to have the topside cleaned. You can continue paying this fee, or we can cancel it, it is up to you once the boat is yours.
