I lived on this boat for 3 years and sailed it from TX with my husband who is not here anymore. Someone was living on it the last 4 months and did a few repairs as well so its very well taken care of. So far this is what i know about the boat: it has An inboard 5416 Diesel 16HP water cooled engine. Two mainsails in above average condition, two roller furling Genoas, Storm jib and Crusing Spinnaker with snuff ring. 47.2 ft mast, 4 ft Keel. Manual head, engine serviced and cooling system cleaned 2 years ago at least. Some minor cosmetic wears and tares. I own the title. And have the new registration. Im the second owner of this beautiful boat since 2011 and I have All documentation for entire history, maintaining etc... The Catalina 30 has proved to be one of the most popular sailing vessels afloat. This entry level boat is safe, and spacious. With the combination of self tailing winches, and furling Genoa make her a very simple single handed sailor. This is a fine example of the line, she shows well and will need minimal effort to get her out there. Why not? This is a 1974 Compac 16 Sailboat 16 ft in length. With 4 Sails and Trailer. The boat is in excellent condition for its age. The only flaw other than usuall scratches and scuffs of any boat it that it is missing about 6 ft of rub rail around the transom. this is hardly noticable. a $20 fix but since it is hardly noticable I have just never fixed it. The Compac 16 is one of the Safest easy to sail boat you can buy. it has a weighted keel for exceptional stability. even in high winds. and is very easy to rig and sail. perfect for learning to sail . and just taking out the kids for a day sailing. it does have a small cabin with two beds that can accomidate two people overnight. or store the extra sails and food and drinks for the day and also comes with a porta potti for natures neccesities during the day. It comes with 4 Sails the Main, two jibs (110 and a 130) and a spinaker with a whisker pole. The boat has a teak floor that can be raised flush with the seats to make a deck for lawn chairs and so forth. The trailer is in good condition and makes the launching and transporting of the boat very easy. and ready to go anywhere. Again the Compac 16 is a very tough and durable boat and one of the easiest and safest boats you can sail , even in high winds not recommended for boats of this size it safely handles them when a sudden gust comes up , once it heels to a certain angle it depowers itself and makes capsize highly unlikely, and with the weighted keel , if it was to capsize (highly unlikely) it would right itself. plus I think it is one of the prettiest sailboats made and looks cool on the water.
