Offered for your consideration is this 1980 18’ Chrysler Buccaneer sailboat. I have the Certificate of Title to the boat, issued in Pennsylvania 9/30/2009. Since that time it has been in the water exactly twice, both times at Marsh Creek Lake in Lionville (Exton) PA. The Hull Identification Number is CBC63159M80E. The boat has been sitting unused and stored outside for the past five years and deserves a new home. Needless to say, since the boat has been stored outside, she will need a thorough cleaning and detail. You’ll probably want to consider painting the hull. The mast, stays, and hardware are all intact. There is a very old fiberglass repair at the bow (see photo). I have at least one sail (no rips or tears but it is dirty) and a spinnaker. There may also be a jib around. The trailer shown in the photos IS included in this sale. I provided a photo to show what the Buccaneer can look like, cleaned up and under sail. Buccaneer sailboat, 18 ft daysailer, light (500 lbs) and very fast (plane-ing hull). This is 1978 model made by Chrysler (HIN CBC52411M78J) with many upgrades and restorations in an excellent condition with fully restored trailer. It is a popular "design one" class sailboat with many active clubs and regattas. Upgrades/restorations: - flotation foams added in the hull, - transom storage cover added hinges, new gasket and barrel bolt, - bow storage covers, one is secured with screws the other has a hold down clamp to keep it tightly closed but can be easily open to store items, - modified mast to have a higher step location (hinged arrangement) so one person can easily raise the mast, - front jib modified to be a furling type with new Harken furling system, - installed jib Halyard lever on the mast with 7 holes for different amount of tension of the luff wire,- all new teak wood, custom made and nicer than original, - new custom made hiking strips,- new centerboard gasket, - new outboard mounting board, - new enforcement plywood in the transom where the mounting brackets are fastened. Many of these upgrades can be seen in the pictures. Deck has some crazing, no major cracks, hull is in excellent condition, no dents, soft spots or gelcoat bubbles. Sails are in good condition in the proper storage bags. Long paddle, Sanford anchor, boom vanng and window indicator are included. The trailer has been completely restored by taking it apart, wire-brushing rust, priming and painting. All new hardware as well as supporting custom made boards are installed. Also, there are new wheels and tires, new bearings with bearing buddy, new seals and of course new wiring. All these improvements and restoration were done since I bought it in 2010. Since then the boat was used only two times (!) and that is why I am selling it. It has been stored in my barn. There are only two owners before me and they kept the boat in the barn. It also has a good road cover, however upon unfolding it (I have never used it) I found two quarter size holes, apparently chewed by mice! That can be easily repaired. Rigging & Handling Guide by Harry R. Sindle is included. I also have very nice, low hours, well maintained (new water pump) Johnson 4 HP outboard motor, model J4BRHCTA. It fits this sailboat very nice and provides a nice cruising speed when there is no wind or for maneuvering in the marina.
