This Annapolis Wherry was built by an experienced woodworker from a kit by Chesapeake Light Craft (clcboats). The Annapolis Wherry offers thoroughbred performance on the water combined with breathtaking grace. The Annapolis Wherry has been turning heads since 1997, with hundreds and hundreds built all over the world. Solid stability, sea kindly lines, excellent tracking, a buoyant bow, and ample flare make the Wherry a natural choice for rowing in choppy conditions. The open design allows for plenty of sprawling and a picnic basket when beach cruising. Stability is strong for a performance rowing boat: you can step into the boat from a dock and even stand up. However, the narrow waterline means that the Annapolis Wherry is as fast as many "rec" shells, sprinting at 7 knots and cruising at 4-5 knots. At this speed you could cover 30 or 40 miles in a day. We hear of Wherries being used for camping and fishing expeditions. Arguably the best sliding seat unit in the sport, the Piantedosi monorail design is simple, elegant, and stiff, with an exceptionally smooth slide. Multiplies the horsepower of a human being by bringing to bear nearly every muscle in your body. Sliding seat boats offer absolutely terrific low-impact cardio workouts. Oars are made by Dreher in Germany. These 9' 6" graphite and unidirectional fiberglass sculls feature a tapered section design that is both very light and very stiff. Traditional Macon blades. These are expressly designed for sliding seat rowing boats. Sculls include soft rubber hand grips and Concept II collars and buttons to engage in Concept 2 oarlocks. Boat, seat, and oars are all in good shape. The boat kit retails for $1399, the seat $650, and the oars $499, for a total of $2548. Delivery within 200 miles is possible.

Please call owner Ken at 757-235-9747.Boat is in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Like new 17 FT Northeaster Dory by Chesapeake Light Craft,Annapolis, MD for sale. Build date Sept 2012. Garage kept on trailer (option to purchase) since then. Rowed 8 times in summer 2015. Sail kit is assembled but never used, ready to go. Tanbark lug rig sail new in box with single reef. Custom aluminum attachment plates fasteners for the Piantadosi sliding rowing seat. Oars not included. Custom beige boat cover. This is the boat for those who don't like the endless maintenance of varnishing. The boat is finished in a 2K Alexseal paint finish flat Savannah Beige interior and Capri Blue hull color. This provides you with an extremely hard, durable finish that will buff up as needed, and is more easily repaired than Awlgrip. The paint was professionally sprayed over 2 coats of Alexseal primer. This paint's usable life is 10-15 years compared to repainting with the suggested Interlux Topside paint every 3 years. The boat was initially assembled at a supervised building class at CLC over 1 week. But, the build week is only the beginning of the project. That only gets you the "raw boat" fully epoxy sealed. So,if you're not a carpenter, and don't like maintenance, this is your boat. Completion requires many additional man hours fashioning rub rails, mast, yards, dagger board, mast partner, rudder, tiller extension, and seats. Approximately 10K spent on this boat project

Please contact the owner directly @ 202-316-8717 or [email removed]leted in April 2013, this little 1952 Chris-Craft classic kit runabout, winner of the prestigious Best Outboard Boat award at the 26th annual Antique and Classic Boat Society Chesapeake Bay Chapter -- Antique and Classic Boat Festival. originally assembled by Norman W. Bailey of Newmarket N.J. has been these last two years: completely and painstakingly renovated with expert craftsmanship and the finest materials and hardware available. It had been abandoned in a neighbor's backyard on the Potomac for a few years, and before it was too late I intervened. The boat was given to me for lack of a better alternative and I started the lengthy process, stripping the hull bare, replacing damaged pieces, and restructuring separated marine plywood deck with Sepele Mahogany. All original wood sealed with CPES epoxy (inside and out) and joints secured with West Systems. Sikaflex adhesive sealant caulk on deck to match wood color. 3 coats of Pettit - Bikini Blue on hull and 7 coats of Z-Spar on deck. Matching exterior grade latex paint on hull interior to help wood breath and dampness evaporate. Flush cleats and electrical switching by Attwood and Cole Hersee Co.-U.S.A. respectively, signal horn by Roca-Sweden, fairleads and stern light by Osculati-Italy, and steering cable pulleys by Ronstan-Australia. All bronze and stainless screws! The boat is extremely stable and is built comfortably to the pilot and passenger. The 1957 Mercury Mark 55E was completely rebuilt by a professional mechanic and comes with a guarantee. The boat includes original Mastercraft trailer, electric ignition, horn, both bow and stern lights as well as a fire extinguisher and clear title. It is a sweet little boat and one of a kind... But I need to make room for, and finance yet bigger and better projects! I have about $14,000 invested. You're welcome to make me any offer.

This is a truly unique vessel. She has been fully restored and refitted. Boat is a must see. She comes rigged superior to many boats in her class with; separate spinnaker and jib tracks, retracting spinnaker pole. The running rigging is brought back to the cockpit for easy handling through line clutches and new harken self tailing winches (6 total ST-40s & 60s). These are just a few of the features that make this an awesome vessel. A list of features of the boat is below, also if you have any questions feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer them. More pictures are available. Standing rigging and mast is new to the boat (2010) and engine is new (2011) 28hp Beta (marinized Kubota) The boat was in the water 2.5 years before I had to pull her out and store her on the hard to return to school. I began a process of retrofitting and improving some of her accessories having cruised her to the Chesapeake and back. Upgrades include diesel cabin heater, lengthened and reinforced companionway hatch, smaller engine box, electric anchor windlass. As projects go, one turned into another and I decided to strip the deck (then the hull) to repaint (paint was approaching 10 yrs old). Lots of sanding and fairing and the boat now is primed (545 epoxy primer) and faired smopoth ready for finish coat. Boat comes with a gallon of Awlcraft Royal Blue and Moondust (light beige) for the hull and deck which are the same colors the boat had on it. The boat is COMPLETE with ALL nuts and fasteners all in labeled bags with a diagram. The boat is disassembled and READY FOR PAINT and reassembly. Boat is already primed with Awlgrip 545 and finish sanded. This vessel continues to be a head turner and with a little diligent work will be back in the water by winter. The boat comes with a heavy duty cover in addition to the canopy pictured. These two things make all the difference when working in the Florida heat. Unfortunately my job has taken me to a place where no sailor wishes to go. . . a landlocked city, so the boat cannot accompany me and I am too far away to be able to finish her. As much as I hate to see her go, she has provided me some very fond memories and it's time for her to go to a new home. First $14,000 takes it all (new diesel motor, modern sails & rig, over-sized modern winches and the works) Inquire with questions, more photos available.
