This Islander is in very good overall condition with serviceable sails, solid rigging, and a 20 HP diesel engine that runs great. The boat is dry inside with no leaks. She was inspected in March of 2023 along with getting minor hull repairs, new bottom paint, new cutlass bearing, and shaft stuffing. She needs some cosmetic attention such as new topside nonskid paint, refinishing of the topside wood trim, and cockpit teak deck. The inside is in good shape but ready for some upgrades to the new owner's liking. Stock #359748 ***SALE PENDING*** Islander 36 Ready to Sail with Recent Bottom Pant, Cutlass Bearing, and Shaft Stuffing This 1972 Islander 36 is ready for a new Capitan. She has a lot to like if you are looking for a nice sized sloop with a large cockpit with room for 6 to sail comfortably. The boat needs to be sold, so bring all reasonable offers. The boat was valued by a professional surveyor at $23,000 in March of 2023. She is well outfitted with a Lazy Jack system for the main sail including a Stack Pack, a Schafer furling jib, a solid boom vang, a hydraulic backstay adjuster, stainless steel rod standing rigging, and with lines rigged for single-handed sailing. The helm is equipped with a stainless-steel wheel, compass, folding cockpit table, cup holders, and instruments including depth and speed indicators. We have owned "Surprise" since 2011. We have campaigned the boat successfully on the Bohemia River and upper Chesapeake Bay. The swing keel draws only 4’ when up and 6’10” when the board is down, making it prefect for the upper Chesapeake. Last season she won the ERYC Bohemia Bay Wednesday Night Racing series and the Gene McCord Memorial Race. “Surprise” continues to be a fast and competitive racer. The 150 genoa is on its second season. Sail inventory includes a main, #1 genoa, 1 spinnaker, 1 asymmetric drifter, … In addition, she has proved a comfortable cruiser for those times when we weren't racing. This 1980 C&C 34 Sloop offers a great deal of comfortable cruising for a very reasonable price. She has beautiful lines and is a great all-round boat with a good turn of speed. She is roomy below decks with over 6 feet of headroom and accommodations for six. Side decks are large permitting easy movement around the boat, and forward is a large anchor locker. Her bottom was painted in spring of 2022. The boat is in very good shape with a large V-Berth, Convertible Settee that sleeps 2 and a Port Aft Bunk that sleeps 1. Galley has a 3-burner stove/oven, sink and top loading ice chest. A single head to port and large hanging locker before the V-Berth. She has a Yanmar 2QM20 20 HP Diesel, 2 - 12V batteries + Inverter, Keel stepped mast, Furling Jib, two Danforth Anchors + 50 feet chain and 200 foot of rope, Maroon Sail Cover that matches Bimini, Dodger and wench covers. All lines led into the cockpit, sailing instruments in cockpit, 3 bumpers, and 50-foot Shore power cable. She has a custom cover for the winter. The new owner gets all this plus the equipment and accessories listed below. The 34 is considered one of C&C's better designs, equipped for racing and cruising. Call for a showing today. Title: Simply Brilliant Ideas & Projects for Sailboats & Power to Customize Your Boat and Prepare the Crew for Cruising! Subtitle: Boatloads of Hints, Tips, and Great Ideas! To Save You Time, Money, and Problems! A must for people preparing to go cruising, whether power or sail! Boatloads of Hints, Tips, and Great Ideas helps you prepare your vessel, crew, pets, paperwork, galley, and money for the upcoming cruise! This book can save you thousands of dollars, buckets of hours of labor, and tons of grief! Must reading for anyone considering the cruising lifestyle. A few bucks spent here can save your life someday! From the book... "For forty-five years, you've lived a shore-based life. You understand things in your land-oriented world implicitly and rarely need to think about anything pertaining to your basic living circumstances. All of that's about to go flying out the window because YOU'RE getting ready to go cruising. You're entering into a new and foreign world. You need all of the help you can get to maximize the potential for success of your cruise. Sure, you've got a great library of the classic cruising narratives, books by the Roths, the Hiscocks, the Pardey's, and many others. They contain a wealth of information to help you in your transition into the cruising life." Any cruising sailor quickly learns to search out and rely heavily on "local knowledge." Perhaps the greatest source of local knowledge about the cruising lifestyle would come from a veteran cruiser. Jim Beerstecher, Jim B, is a veteran cruiser. He lives that lifestyle full time. He made the transition into full time cruising years ago and has learned a great deal since then. No, he didn't capsize in a mondo storm in the Southern Ocean while sailing backwards and whistling "I Seen Fire and I Seen Rain." He's not a famous offshore racer. Nor is he a wealthy yuppie gone to sea. God knows there are better sailors everywhere. Jim B is an average cruiser with an average cruiser's experience and a lot of proven ideas to save you time, money, and energy! That's what you need, basic hints, tips, and great ideas from cruisers who've been there! This book is a compendium of boatloads of the slick things Jim B has learned in thirty years of sailing and over five years of full time cruising. Any one hint, tip or idea is easily worth the price of this book and can enhance your cruising experience. ...and every copy you buy helps him stay out cruising just that much longer! Thanks! When payment is confirmed via paypal, I will send this PDF to your Confirmed Email Address. Good luck fitting out your boat, your crew and yourself for cruising! Fair Winds, Amigos! - Jim B
