2005 Infinity ZX-1 open bow performance ski & wake board boat. This boat is very fast with an awesome wake and extremely low hours, 95 hrs but will go up! Flick the switch, the ballast empties and you have a world class ski boat! Unlike the big three, Infinity designed these with usability in mind. The layout is perfect for friends and families with lots of storage and the upgraded Excalibur 330 v-drive makes this thing move! We have had 10 people on the boat for the day and still had room to spare. During that day we wakesurfed, wake boarded, tubed, and skied. This boat has more storage than any other of its type. The comfort of the upholstery is equally outstanding. This boat handles the course like a champ offering incredible tracking ability. The step-through from the cockpit onto the platform is a great feature and skiers/boarders will also appreciate the handy soap/tool box, which is in arms reach from the teak platform. Storage, storage, storage! Under every seat is storage, deep front storage, rear end storage, an oversized ski locker (holds wake boards and wake surf boards) and a built in cooler. This boat has it all.The Infinity ZX-1 hull design is wider at the windshield, tapering back toward the stern. The open bow has a deep, comfortable, forward-facing bench. Rather than a bench in the stern, this boat features two large wraparound seats divided by a convenient step-through to the platform. The fuel is 30 gallon midship tank for better weighting and the cockpit stretches nearly all the way to the stern of the boat. Brandon De Natale The Mediterranee 50 is built in one of the most industrialized boatyards in the world, and it is evident when onboard that attention to detail and superior old world craftsmanship have gone into building this boat. The 50 is an Italian cruiser with all the comforts and amenities you would expect on a 60 + foot yacht. Only a few of these exquisite vessels are shipped to the United States every year and I was lucky enough to test one thanks to Abruzese Yacht Sales in Yonkers, New York. The design of this European vessel is a breath of fresh air. Most state side built boats in the same range I find bulky or outdated. And most look the same and don’t have a character that is all their own. Not only does the Mediterranean’ 50 have sleek sexy lines and eye catching performance; it also delivers everything you could possibly need in an extended range cruiser. There are so many thoughtful and innovative features onboard that it took us a full day to shoot video of everything we thought was worthy of mentioning. Power This boat is so well laid out that it is perfect for a large family that wants a comfortable and fast cruiser to take them out to their favorite destinations and back over the course of the weekend. With her three staterooms and two-head setup you can do just that… and do it in style. One of the major contributing factors to the fast ride and extremely generous range are the twin 715-hp Volvo Penta D12 EDC engines. These are placed well forward and very low and together in the boat, leading to excellent performance and stability. There’s great access to the engines from two openings in the cockpit sole. I was frankly amazed with all the space aft of the engines where the steering hook-up and generator are located. There is also great access to the rudderposts and steering cables through the opening in the floor of the garage deck all the way aft. This provides great ventilation and comfort when working below. The use of sound deadening materials is evident in the quiet ride experienced when at speeds. We measured a steady 77 on the dBa meter for most of the range and got the highest reading of 83 at full throttle. The other contributing factor to the smooth ride and great performance is the well-designed hull. The hull of the Mediterranee’ 50 sports a deep-V in the bow with hard chines that cut down on spray. Further aft there are flat sections that help to stabilize the ride while the propellers are also housed in Prop pockets. All of this factors in for a uniquely smooth and stabile vessel that can take plenty of seas while still providing you with the best that luxury has to offer. Topside Layout The layout on deck is open and practical. I love the simplistic nature of European design and this boat speaks style and functionality. Back aft we find a large swim platform that makes getting onboard from the dock or tender easy. The boat also features a hydraulic passerelle, which features one button operation and is lighted for nighttime use. And when it comes to docking the Mediterranee’ 50 convenient features such as stern winches and a unique helm design allow the driver to quickly tend to lines when docking. This boat might be large but with all of the great features it’s a breeze to handle with two people. Located further aft is the garage where you can store a large inflatable or jet boat. It features convenient rollers and an electric winch to help retrieve the boat built into the bulkhead. The top of the garage also pulls double duty as a large sun pad for lounging. The Cockpit To port in the cockpit is a wet bar and electric grill. At first I wasn’t excited with an electric grill but after remembering how great that little grill I have at home is I started thinking how nice it would be to not have to worry about turning the propane on every time I wanted to cook. There is also a fridge and storage rack located just underneath the wet bar. Seating and Helm Over to starboard is a C-shaped seating arrangement and table, which comfortably seat six or seven adults. Forward of this area is the helm which is set up to accommodate four people. This is great for keeping everyone together and in the action while underway. To port there is a seat, which accommodates two. You will also find cup holders and plenty of dashboard storage. Over to starboard the two helm chairs are comfortable and are electronically controlled for the best possible line of site. They also feature a flip up bolster to make it comfortable when standing. Another great feature is the step that is located behind these two seats that when separated provides a quick way to get out on the side decks to tend lines when docking. The helm is well designed with good space for mounting additional gear. The Volvo controls are smooth, and the custom wood and leather Nardi steering wheel add a nice touch. The walkway up to the bow is wide and makes for easy passage. The railings are large stainless steel and provide great support. Also, the windshield features a wide large cap on top, which acts as a railing when moving forward. Up here there’s another large sun pad and wide open deck. You will also find a large anchor locker, windlass, fender storage and heavy-duty hardware throughout. Below Deck An aluminum sliding door provides the entrance to the cabin. Once below beautifully crafted American cherry cabinets and wall panels surround you. The door handles are covered in leather and the layout for the three staterooms and two heads creates a wide-open feel. As you enter the cabin you will find the two staterooms to port and starboard, one with two twins and the other with a full. Each provides plenty of storage and have large hanging lockers. Attached to the cabin and the port stateroom is the day-head which features an electric toilet and loads of cabinet space. One of the neat little features I found was the showerhead, which is built into the ceiling providing great coverage. GalleyThe galley is just to starboard and features loads of storage, Corian countertops and provides access to the ship’s electrical panel. Over to port is a U-shaped settee, which will seat five to six for meals, with the additional bench stools that are provided. Master Stateroom Just forward is the master stateroom with a double queen-sized bed and private head with shower. The cabin features beautiful woodwork around the berth and the cabin walls. There are two large hanging lockers with shelves, two portholes for fresh air, and a stereo with CD player for relaxation. Performance and Handling The seas were pretty flat when we took the 50 out for our test ride. She had a full tank of fuel and ¾ tank of water on board. We got her up to 40 mph and I’m sure she would push close to 45 with less weight aboard. The Volvo D12 engines provided smooth acceleration and excellent performance. This is truly a great weekend cruiser for the family. It can also be a great-extended cruiser for smaller couples, and affords plenty of storage for all of your gear and toys. The hull provided a solid ride and with the unique hull design you’re sure to feel safe and secure when traveling in seas. While the cruiser market here in the states is a little old fashioned, the unconventional lines and traditional quality Italian craftsmanship is a welcome import that is sure to find its way into your family. This boat runs as well as it looks. The hulls and superstructure are built like a tank with the bottoms about an inch thick with balsa cored sides and decks. 2007 23' Kencraft, Ice blue hull, no bottom paint 2006 175hp Suzuki 4-stroke motors, stainless 3blade 21p props, ~1200hr 2007 Road King tandem axle aluminum trailer, new axles, new wheels, new tires, new lights. Simrad NSS8 touchscreen GPS, new Furuno FCV620 with thru hull transducer Fusion UD750 stereo, new Wet Sounds SD6 amplifier, new (2) Wet Sounds 8" speakers, new (4) Wet Sounds 6.5" speakers, new (2) Wet Sounds 10" subwoofers, new Icom 422 VHF Radio w/ 8' Antenna 8' FM Antenna, new Leaning post livewell Lenco trim tabs 140gal fuel tank Saltwater washdown Rear bench seat Full coaming bolsters Full cover The boat has a larger t-top that was installed late 2013, at which time i believe the coaming bolsters were replaced as well. All latches were also replaced with stainless GEM and new torsion axles were installed on the trailer. It also received a full 100hr service that included a new port lower unit. Switches were gone through, all lights and pumps were replaced/fixed. GPS was replaced with a new simrad and the sound system was drastically improved with new. All new wheels and tires (5) were replaced on the trailer as well as replacing the tail lights. I have new plexiglass for the electronics box yet to be installed. Performance wise, 4000 cruise is 28-33mph load/condition dependent and 6000 ive seen low 50s. The boat does not have flo-scan, but all Suzuki reports on boats turning 6k have 4000 cruise at 11-12gph and wot around 31-32gph total. Flaws i havent yet addressed: hour meters dont work, a volt gauge and a trim gauge doesnt work. carpet inside the console was removed and not yet replaced. theres a very small gell coat blister that popped top side on the bow, a small, poor gel coat repair under the tow eye- colors dont match perfect, and a few small scratches rear starboard that would sand out. 2010 50 ft. Metroship Houseboat, designed and built in Sep. 2009 by David Ballinger, GDM Limited. (Sometimes advertised as the 48 foot model.) Currently located on the NJ side of the Hudson River right across from midtown Manhattan, NYC!!! Location is amazing for either a commuter or weekender. Views of the city skyline abound right outside the back deck! This beautiful, unique, modern houseboat is a perfect live-a-board houseboat or floating home. I have lived on it full-time myself for 4 years. It features 500 square feet of interior space plus about another 150 square feet outside on 2 decks. The open New York loft-style floor plan feels very roomy and is filled with tons of natural light, thanks to the translucent Kalwall fiberglass wall panels. A large salon, or living room is open to an island eat-at full kitchen with plenty of counter and cabinet space. The kitchen is equipped with a high-end Gaggenau double electric burner and convection oven, an under-counter microwave, 2 small GE refrigerators, and a full-size dish washer! The amply-sized bathroom features a glass vanity, a full shower stall, marine toilet and clothes closet with an LG Washer & Dryer! Towards the rear of the boat is a king-size bedroom with built-in TV and glass doors that open right onto the back deck with amazing views of Manhattan. The back deck is a fantastic place for a nice meal or casual drink at the table with lanterns or tiki torches. My first date with my (now) wife was on the back deck of this very boat. And what can I say...she bit! Hook, line & sinker! The boat has A/C and I also installed a solar heating panel in 2011, which works great on sunny days in the winter. It literally creates free heat, and while it is 20 degrees (F) outside on a sunny day, it will still be 70-75 degrees (F) inside! At night in the winters, my best source of heat has been electric oil-filled radiators, which are completely safe and stable on the boat. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The boat has weathered two major hurricanes in NYC, and has fared just fine! (Hurricane Irene in 2011 and Sandy in 2012). The insurance policy also completely covers the boat in case of damage during a storm like these though. As mentioned in the condition section, the 90HP Mercury outboard engine is not currently working, and I’ll tell you why…. When I bought the boat, I had grand plans of cruising it up the Hudson River or around the NY Harbor…. Yeah, right! This boat is designed for cruising only in a calm inland lake or river; and if you decide to have it transported there, it would be great to have a working outboard for day cruising. But really, this boat is just perfect where it is as a floating home. It’s worked out great as a live-a-board for me, and if that’s what you decide to do with it too, trust me, the last thing you’ll really care about is taking it cruising. It just ain’t made for cruising in the busy waters of the Hudson River and the NYC Harbor. For living on and enjoying a convenient location to NYC, it’s just perfect! As mentioned before though, the boat can be hauled out and put on a trailer and taken to anywhere in the continental US/ Canada, because it can (and has) been transported on the interstate. It was built in Georgia and then was trailered up to Greenwich, CT where it was first put in the water as a live-a-board. In the early Summer of 2010, David Ballinger then moved the boat through the Long Island Sound, down the East River, around the southern tip of Manhattan, and up the Hudson River to its current resting location. As far as the condition of the boat goes, it is 5 years old, and has been in the water full-time, so it is about as would be expected. The boat will need to be hauled later this summer to have the bottom painted with new anti-fouling paint and re-inspected for insurance. The boat is currently insured with Markel American, and I have been very pleased with their service. There is also some rust on the transom and a few other places on the hull around the water line, but that can also be addressed when the boat is hauled out for new bottom paint. Rough estimate to haul the boat and paint the hull above and below the water line would probably be around $6-7k +/-, but you would need to get a more firm quote. There are also a few cosmetic issues that can use some attention, like refinishing the wood windows and doors and a few soft spots in the floor. I started to do this myself, but simply don't have the time and I also have just recently moved cities, so I am leaving this up to the buyer. Just about anyone can do these things themselves with a little time and TLC. As far as furnishings go, only the bed is built-in; but really all the furniture pictured is for sale with the boat except for some of the electronics. In the living room / salon, there is shown an electric drum set, computer monitor, TV, several speakers, an amplifier and a sub woofer. Those items are not being sold with the boat unless full asking price is paid and they are negotiated into the sale. All the other furnishings and electronics can be considered for sale with the boat, but are also negotiable depending on sale price. There is a West Marine dock box on the dock (about 5 ft. long), value about $600-700, that is included with the sale of the boat too, regardless of the price! Dockage is available in current marina to new owner. Slip rates are about $1,150/mo. in the summer (May 1 - Oct. 31), and about $400/ mo. in the winter (Nov. 1 - April 30). Water is included in the summer. Electric is billed at the meter and runs around $30/mo in the Spring and Fall, about $60-120/mo. in the Summer, and about $120-250/mo in the Winter. Maintenance is not that much. A diver needs to clean the bottom and replace the zincs one-two times a year at about $250-300/ time. Dock lines last about 2 years on average and a new set of dock lines for the boat costs about $200. Fenders are Taylor Made and have a lifetime guarantee, and can be swapped at a West Marine for new ones if they burst. As far as typical "boat" maintenance, this boat doesn't really have much. I check the bilge for water every few months and run the pumps as needed. There are hatches below the rear deck for water tanks and hot water heater. I have to open the hatches twice a year to switch from dock water to tank water and back again. That's about it. Battery maintenance is very minimal. The rest is just cosmetic upkeep and cleaning, just like a house or apartment. Now, as far as price goes, you can see that I’m asking $84,900 / OBO. You can shop for these Metroships, and you will find that a new one just like this – 48 ft. Neiman Marcus 50th Anniversary Edition with Kalwall fiberglass panels lists for $250k. Now, I think that’s a lot too, but even one specified directly from the manufacturer very similar to this will still run in the mid – high $100’s. So I believe my asking price of $84,900 is very fair and reasonable all things considered. But of course if you feel a little differently, please feel free to make me a reasonable offer.
