According to the seller, this boat is in good condition and can be sailed away, though there is a soft deck around the forward hatch on the cabin top. Her roller furling jib, and a stack pack main sail with lazy jacks date from 2004 and the seller rates them as being in fair condition. As per the owner, all sails are in good shape, the canvas was recently replaced. The decks were painted with interlux Perfection 3 years ago with Kiwigrip applied for a nonskid surface. All port holes were re-bedded at that time as well. Life lines are Dyneema and are in great shape and decks are solid with no known soft spots. Stock #352548 Powered by the original Atomic-4 gas inboard engine, capable of taking you wherever you want to go! The beauty of the Tartan 30 lay in its resemblance to the popular Tartan 34, at least above the waterline. The yacht has a graceful sheer and an uncluttered deck trimmed conservatively with hints of teak. It is well proportioned; the just-under-30-feet length pairs nicely with the 10-foot beam. A quick scan of the hull, stainless steel deck fittings, sensible cockpit layout and the performance-driven keel and rudder combination make it clear this is a yacht designed for ocean racing as well as weekend cruising. The mast steps through the deck to the lead ballast for additional strength. The deck is plywood-cored fiberglass sandwich construction. Single lower and upper shrouds are brought inboard to bulkhead-fastened chainplates, providing the yacht with closer-winded sailing ability and easier access to the foredeck. The Tartan 30 is an ideal used boat choice for a small family looking to sail offshore in varying sea conditions or simply wanting to have fun racing around the buoys with line-honors confidence. This small cruiser is well built, easy to handle and relatively economical to maintain. Reason for selling is doesn't use enough.

1971 Tartan 34C The Tartan 34c is a true S&S designed classic. From 1967-78, 525 hulls were produced. In 1968 she won her class in the Southern Ocean Racing Circuit and then again in the Port Huron-Mackinac Race, followed by the Marblehead-Halifax Race. In fact, to this day they are still winning in club competitions all over. Besides Olin and Rod Stephens, the deck was developed by Gerhard Gilgenast, German Frers Jr. and Francis Kinney. Production came to an end when the factory burned down and molds were destroyed. This led to the newly organized Tartan Marine where production resumed. The 34c’s cruising prowess has been fully realized as the design has been sailed single-handed around the world - across the Pacific to Hawaii, around the Horn of South Africa - not to mention numerous other passages. Today she is considered to be a moderately heavy keel-centerboard sloop with graceful overhangs, wide side decks, a long 8' cockpit and moderate sail plan. Olin Stephens referred to her as a "masterpiece", as everything seems to work well. She sleeps up to six in a cabin trimmed in teak with 6' 2" headroom. The galley is starboard of the companionway with good storage and cooler accessible from the cockpit as well. There's a nav station to port forward of the quarterberth. The port settee will open to a double, and the starboard sette is a single with good storage above both. The table is custom made oak fixed in place and has leaves. She is very easy to single-hand as the jib sheet winches and mainsheet are positioned near the helm. Wings of the Morning, hull number 107, has been upgraded over the years and so shows like a much newer boat. The hull and decks have been painted with Awl-Grip. The interior has been rebuilt with planked ceilings and overhead. The galley has been completely rebuilt and upgraded with tile and custom cabinetry. The companionway ladder is custom built. There is new electrical wiring and panels and the rudder is new. She has a professionally rebuilt engine with new complete exhaust system, new engine fuel pump, carburetor, alternator and water pump. There is a new fuel tank and galvanic isolator. The bottom has been epoxy-coated. The mainsail has been overhauled. There is a Harken traveler and mainsheet system with 8 to 1 purchase. She has new electronics, a new swim ladder, a new Bomar hatch amidships, new safety lines, new Harken roller furling, and new halyards and sheets. The dual bilge pumps are new. The head compartment needs some work completed on the cabinetry and there is no fresh water system or tank. The exterior bright work will need attention. The bottom half of the centerboard is broken off - a new one is estimated at $1500 new from Tartan. Wings Of The Morning is here on the hard and ready to be seen today!

1978 Tartan 34C This is not your Grandfather's Tartan 34!  "Puffin" is a gem of a classic with many upgrades and features that you would usually find on a much newer boat.  Designed by Sparkman and Stephens, the Tartan 34C was first rolled out in 1968 and "Puffin" is one of the last built.   Renowned for their sailing abilities and beautiful classic lines, "Puffin" has a traditional interior layout with teak sole and accommodations for 6, and she has been fitted out with marine reverse cycle A/C and a huge 12 Volt refrigerator, as well as modern Raymarine electronics including autopilot.  All exterior teak is beautifully varnished, and the deck and cockpit shine like a new boat.  The past and current owners, both industry professionals, have over the course of a decade, steadily reworked all facets of the boat, bringing it to her current high condition which will greatly benefit new owners.
