The tug is currently stored on the hard and will need a new prop (48X28). The owner confirms the Detroit Diesel has always been a sweet runner with no major issues. The injectors were replaced in 2004 and the boat has been in fresh water since the late 1980s. This one gets a lot of attention and is under lock-and-key, so a little advanced time for showings will be needed...but well worth it! The elevated bridge provides good visibility all around and is updated with Furuno 1600 radar. The 70-degree rudder and 6' draft optimize maneuverability for this worker. 1890 Elmore Sanborn Tug Own a piece of Puget Sound history. The Elmore has been a NW resident since 1890, with many different tasks and roles in its history. The tug was originally built as a coastwise passenger vessel for the Oregon coast, running from Astoria south to Tillamook. Her original engine was steam powered. In 1905 she was converted to a tugboat. She was extensively rebuilt in 1922, 1950, and 1970. A fire in 1922 consumed the superstructure and a new structure was built.
