1988 Carver 36 Aft Cabin 19000 Price reduction1 When she was introduced in 1982, the 3607 Aft Cabin was thebiggest boat ever built by Carver. Immediately successfuldue to her smart styling and space-efficient layout, the 3607 wasbuilt on a so-called “dual mode” hull, meaning that she can runefficiently at her 7–8 knot displacement speed and still plane outwhen the throttles are fully applied. (Note that this same hull waslater used in the production of the popular Carver 36 Mariner.) Theinterior accommodations of the 3607 Aft Cabin are surprisinglyroomy for a 36-footer, and Carver offered a pair of two-stateroomfloorplans to choose from. Plan A has sleeping accommodationsfor eight with a dinette that converts to a double berth, while PlanB sleeps six and features a raised lounge offering seating for five.A lower helm was standard in both layouts as was a tub/shower inthe aft head. Outside, the aft deck is large enough for a few foldingchairs, and the bridge is only three steps up with guest seating forfour. The side decks are wide enough for easy bow access—a pluson any small cruiser. Standard 350hp gas engines cruise the 3607Aft Cabin around 16 knots and reach a top speed of about 25 knots.
