For anglers not in a rush, however, the single-diesel economy of the Albin 26 goes well with her seaworthy hull and uncluttered deck layout. The sub-console engine position lowers the center of gravity resulting in a comfortable ride. The hull is cored with end-grain balsa in the sides and the outboard sections of the hull bottom. A prop pocket allows her to explore in very shallow water. With the engine beneath the console there is no space for an enclosed head—instead, a portable head is housed under forward hatch.!!
