A terrific starter boat for a family of four in New England waters, or any adventure a sensible captain would wish to entertain. This 2015 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer has the heft, ride, performance and efficiency to make it all happen in comfort and style.
The smooth and reliable, low-time 300 horsepower fuel-injected Mercruiser engine and counter-rotating twin-screw Bravo Three drive will get this boat up to a top speed of 42 mph and cruise most efficiently at 31 mph getting 2.6 miles per gallon, for a useful range of 150 miles or more.
Cockpit amenities include ample seating including a convertible transom seat that folds down to form a sun pad, cockpit table, and freshwater transom shower, with stylish and soft Seadek flooring underfoot.
The helm features full engine instrumentation, compass, VHF two-way radio and a Raymarine touch-screen GPS navigation system. Operation of the anchor windlass can be achieved either from a dashboard switch or foot pedal switches on the bow. Trim Tab gauges were just added.
Down below the forward V-berth sleeps two and converts to a dinette, while the mid-berth can accommodate two more, all in the comfort of the 8,000 BTU reverse-cycle climate control system.
The galley is equipped with a refrigerator, sink and microwave as well as under-counter storage, and there is plenty of storage elsewhere under the V-berth cushions and including a hanging closet.
The combination head/shower is of good size and has a sink with vanity and vaccu-flush toilet.
