Up for sale is my Formula 272 SR1. I've owned this boat for just under 3 years and it has been great. I purchased this 272 as a low cost method to introduce my wife and kids into boating. This idea was very successful and We just upgraded to another Formula. This is the only reason the boat is for sale. Prior to my ownership, I was told it stayed in the same family since it was new. Looks like 3-4 owners over its entire life, including me. I have a stack of invoices including the original invoice when it was purchased new. Reviewing the invoices, good money was spent maintaining the boat over its life. The transom and stringers were all rebuilt prior to my ownership. This invoice alone was $6,206! This repair is a big deal when your dealing with an old boat. Rot isn't something an average person wants to deal with............There is honestly to much to list. Even the gas tank was replaced. All this being said, I want to be clear, this isn't a "show room" boat. She is about to celebrate her 30th birthday and has been clearly used over the years. I can assure you, I'm doing my best to honestly represent the boat and will answer any question not outlined here. I want this boat to go to someone that will enjoy her as much as my family has and maybe spend a little money to help preserve and improve her further. If it wasn't for the great deal I got on my new boat, it wouldn't be for sale. When I got this boat, my first focus was on reliable propulsion. This 272 is still equipped with her original 5.7 engines that still run great! The hour meter shows 285 hours currently. I have no reason to believe it isn't accurate but cant swear to it since I haven't owned it the whole time. All gauges, including the meter, work. Both engines have been professionally tuned and checked over. No worries here on the reliable old 350's. No strange noises and the thru hull exhaust also sounds great. After the engines were tuned and gone over, the attention went towards the drives. Both drives, uppers & lowers were replaced with brand new SEI units. They have about 40 hours total. When the drives were off, both transom assemblies were rebuilt. I mean everything, bellows, cables, trim sensors, etc, etc. Once again, this was all professionally done. I spent over $4k on the transom assembly rebuild and the new drives. If I was keeping her, I would spend the money on the few cosmetic upgrades needed. The upholstery is in very good original condition. However, after almost 30 years, there is a little cracking in the vinyl under the bolsters, one small tear in backseat, seam separation 6" area of sunpad, one cabin cushion has a few small tears. It is all still very presentable and serviceable. I would replace the rub rail, its faded and can be band aided with some dye, however it should be replaced. As the pictures indicate, the gelcoat still holds a nice shine. If you were to replace the old pin strips, I think should would really look great. At 20ft view, you really cant even see the damaged pinstripes. Pinstrip and decals are cheap compared to repainting which this doesn't need unless you were planning on a full restoration. Once again, I want you to know what your buying. No surprises! Just a nice "old school" speedboat. I would have no concerns driving her anywhere. She runs great. Trailer is a 1991 Loadrite that was custom built for this boat and was fully rebuilt while I've owned it. New electric brake setup, tires, bearings, etc. Again, I want peace of mind when towing. I spent almost $3k on the trailer alone in the last couple of years. The trailer will come with the tires/rims pictured in the second picture. The aluminum mag's are going onto another trailer. Again, no worries, The tires/rims your buying are about 2 years old. *in the cabin picture, I have the bed cushion fillers. They are still in storage and go with the boat. Just didn't have time to grab them for the photo. I also have a new back seat cushions that will also be included. I was able to find a mint seat from someone parting out another formula.
