1996 Freedom 35 The Freedom 35 took shape on the screens at Pedrick Yacht Designs. To fulfill the mandate of a versatile, fast yacht, they chose a moderate displacement hull, allowed enough volume for full interior comfort, and gave her ample stability to deliver a well controlled ride in light air or in a blow. The beauty of the Freedom rig is the Carbon Fiber un-stayed mast. There are no shrouds or back stays to worry about. The jib is self tacking on its own boom. The halyards are led aft to and electric winch and sheet stoppers on the deck house. The high roached fully battened mainsail on Antal slides goes up and down with ease. The deck is a standout feature with a swim platform and walk thru transom for easy boarding. A 7.5' "T" shaped cockpit with seat cushions throughout has many special features including foot braces, easy access to the interior and wide uncluttered side decks. Line of sight sailing is unbeatable. You would be hard pressed to find a better seating for both the helmsperson and crew. There are 2 private staterooms in the boat, one spacious double berth forward in a cabin with lots of light and storage. The second stateroom is aft to port with a large berth athwartships, opening ports and sitting area. Both cabins have true double berths, storage, ventilation, natural light and lots of beautiful teak cabinetry. The reverse heat/air conditioning system provides below-decks comfort in any climate. Just down the companionway, the galley is a "L" shaped and located to port. It features a gimbaled propane stove/oven/broiler combination outboard, double stainless steel sinks on the center line and a commodious icebox outboard. There are several storage lockers outboard for provisions. The reliable Yanmar diesel is housed under the center section of the boar with the weight down low and in the centered for ultimate stabilty. The aft stateroom is located just aft of the galley on the portside. There is a large head compartment located to starboard with a separate stall shower. Manual head and holding tank with waste discharge. Opposite the galley to starboard is a dedicated navigation station with AC/DC distribution panels outboard. There is a single settee berth to starboard in the main salon with storage outboard. To port is a comfortable "L" settee with storage under and outboard. The table is a double leaf that folds up and out of the way to the forward bulkhead. Just forward of the salon is the owners stateroom. The interior finish is furniture grade teak which has been impeccably maintained.
