E Boothbay ME 3306 HAWKSBILL was one of only 5 of this type of vessel built.  This particular HAWKSBILL was built as a gentleman's Sword Fishing boats with an unusual flybridge configuration and a huge fishing cockpit. She has an exceptional pedigree designed by John Alden and custom built in 1965 in East Boothbay Maine by one of the all time greatest boat builders, Sonny Hodgdon of Hodgdon Bros. The boat has a n incredible history.  Initially built for a writer from NY as a sword fishing boat which was his passion.

JUST WON SECOND PLACE AT THE SEATTLE YACHT CLUB OPENING DAY PARADE (BEST CLASSIC BOAT) "Contessa" is a very handsome schooner, built to high standards by George I. "Sonny" Hodgdon's yard of East Boothbay, ME in 1978; she is heavily built using quality methods and materials; she had a major refit in the early 1990's, which included a new deck, transom, electric panel, interior refinishing, etc. Four new sails and canvas' were added in 2003. Built of Honduras Mahogany over Oak frames, with Teak decks."Contessa" has an attractive, comfortable layout well suited for the offshore or coastal sailing. She is in fine condition and is in full commission, ready for her new owner. NEW in April 2015: hauled and bottom painted, topsides painted, zincs replaced.

Classic "Down-East" power boat built by G.I. "Sonny" Hodgdon in East Boothbay, Maine in 1979. Designed by Woodin and Marean naval architects and listed in the "Hodgdon Shipbuilding and Mills" book by Barbara Rumsey. Engine was installed by Crosby in Osterville, Massachusetts in 1980. Engine has fewer than 2000 hours. Entire cooling system has been renewed and renovated. In past 2 winters side decks and after deck and cockpit coaming were replaced. In winter of 2015 frames were renewed and renovated. Fasteners have been inspected and renewed where necessary. Transom was refinished in 2015. Paint is okay but needs renewal...was intended but ran out of winter. Canvas "camper" top is in good condition. Canvas includes side curtains, windshield cover, wheel house curtains and bench cover. Cabin had vee berths for two, small galley with stove and refrigerator and sink, head with integral holding tank. All upholstery in cabin is in excellent condition. Forward is an anchor locker. Stowage is below berths, hanging locker in head and lockers in cabin. There is a helm in the wheelhouse and an after helm which is ideal for maneuvering. Boat is a comfortable, family and friends, fun boat.
