2008 Hurricane 196 REF,This 2008 Hurricane 196 FunDeck has been used in fresh water lakes in Oklahoma for the last 7 years. It has always been stored indoors, washed down after every use and waxed yearly. The factory equipped this boat very well, but we wanted more so we changed the 2 standard bow chairs to 2 captains chairs and added an over the side rail mounted Magma kettle grill.The 150 HP Yamaha F150 four stroke engine (136 Hours) is a great power plant that has been serviced yearly with engine and lower unit lubricant changes using Yamaha filters and Yamalube oil. It always starts first time every time and will propel the boat to 50 MPH, yet it sips fuel from the 29 gallon fuel tank. You can spend all day long on this boat, cruising, picnicking or participating in watersports such as towing tubes, kneeboarding or even, for those capable, water skiing, and still not need to fill the fuel tank. Yamaha provided a great 3 blade propeller for this boat, but the hole shot was not quite as good as the one it gets from the stainless four blade that we added. The three blade Yamaha propeller has never been used and is carried on board and included as a spare.The boat is factory wired for a bow trolling motor (MinKota socket and plug included) with the extra battery tray and wires ready for you to add that extra 12 Volt power plant. If you are going fishing the two bow mounted plastic storage boxes, will hold all of your gear (probably not your rod), or can be used as coolers for those beverages you will need on a hot day if you put in the drain plugs! Bait fish or fresh catch can be kept in the live-well that is pump filled from the helm mounted switch. A huge in deck center storage hatch allows access to a locker capable of holding water-skis, paddles fishing poles etc....The Bimini top and playpen cover are in very good condition as is the Bimini boot. The Bimini can be stored at 2 different heights to allow garage storage and safe towing. This boat has served us very well, but we want a bigger one.
