1975 Irwin 30 SailboatThis is a classic cruiser class racer that has been through a recent refurbishment. The previous owner had used it as a racing day sailor before we bought it in the Winter of 2013 when we began a rehab of the boat to bring it back to cruising condition. The boat has strong bones and the making of a great family cruiser with off shore capability. We launched the boat in January 2014 and lived aboard for three weeks before putting it on the hard again and heading back to our Northern home. The hull is in fantastic shape, please see the improvements below. It is ready to launch with new bottom paint and every below the water line through hull replaced (including prop shaft and stuffing box). Our personal situation does not allow us to see the project to completion but the big stuff has been taken care of. This is a chance to pick up a great boat at a blow out price. The photos of the boat on the hard and the interior were taken on April 2nd, 2015. The outside of the boat needs to be washed but I can assure you the bottom paint is virtually brand new and the top sides clean up really well. The sailing photo is from January 2014.4' shoal draft with an additional center board that increases the draft to 7'25hp Westerbeake Universal engine (only 25 hours after rebuild)30' in length2 head sails (older jib and brand new genoa)Roller furling1 main with sail cover2 Anchors and anchor chainStanding rigging and running rigging in good shape but unknown ageTravelerTiller steering / large cockpitDepth finderBiminiLife jacketsJanuary 2014 upgrades:New bottom paint (ablative) only in the water 3 weeks after applicationNew interior upholsteryInstalled rebuilt Westerbeake Universal 25hp diesel inboard engineNew galley counter tops (marine mahogany)Preliminary sanding and prep of cockpit wood workingJanuary 2013 upgrades:New side and top deck windows New prop shaft & stuffing boxReplacement of all through hullsRemoval of original head and V-berth sink to make for more storageReplacement of cockpit drainsCurrently the boat is ready to launch but is in "camping" condition. No interior electrical lighting, no head, limited running lights. With a little electrical work the boat would be in great shape. We just ran out of time. If you are looking for a polished turn key boat this is not the one for you. BUT, this is not a massive project boat. For someone with a little bit of time and elbow grease she would be a fantastic investment. Once the finishing touches are applied, this boat could sell for $15k +.The boat is currently on the hard at Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage and is available for viewing by appointment. Please message me with any additional information needed.
