2005 Island Hopper 37 Catamaran RECENT PRICE REDUCTION!!!! REDUX, is hull one of the Island Hopper line of fast sailing catamarans and was originally conceived to be the first Gunboat Catamaran. After a change of direction, it became an Island Hopper 37, which later became the award winning Moxie. Built In Cape Town, South Africa with high tolerances of construction under the guidance and design by Uwe Jaspersen, REDUX is a proven performer with a great sail plan and dagger boards.  A large helm wheel is at the front of the cockpit with near unimpeded vision and easy access to the sail controls neatly placed at the bottom of the mast. A design that would later become a regular feature in Gunboats and Chris White Design Catamarans. The two 20 hp Yamaha electric start outboards are conveniently located in the aft hulls out of the way where they can quietly move REDUX quickly with high efficiency when the wind isn't blowing and retracted for greatly added sailing performance. The engines are deployed downward through the hulls with an electric lift vertically into the water where there is far less chance of cavitation as with other designs. The open cockpit is bright and airy and has the appropriate clear curtains for when the weather is not perfect and screening to allow maximum hours of enjoyment aboard the boat Large settees cover an enormous amount of storage and the convenient center fold down cockpit table also has a cooler. In front of the table is the galley with a two burner stove and stainless steel sink. It is all the galley needed to keep serving while still participating on deck. Clean up is simple and easy. Below in the forward port hull is the twin berth with electrical panel and storage. In the aft port hull is the large head with shower and Lavac manual toilet. The starboard hull has a twin berth forward and aft with more storage.
