At 26 feet with a roller-furling jib, this boat is easy to rig and sail, and just as easy to transport. Instead of chugging with a diesel engine at 4 knots, this boat was fitted in 2015 with a new Suzuki 50 HP high thrust engine, and can speed along at 22 mph. The combined towing weight is under 4000 lbs. It is able to explore quiet coves of the San Juan's or nestle onto sandy beaches because its retractable rudders and keel. That is because it can be launched in as little as 12 inches of water. The cabin heater is able to keep you snug on rainy days, and warm on cold Northwest nights. Stepping down below-deck, you will notice all new upholstery. The cabin has 5-foot headroom, large sofa seats, and the four-person dinette that easily converts into a berth. There is a double berth forward, and double berth aft, where sleeping is made comfortable by ventilation hatches. The galley features a sink, ice chest, alcohol stove, counter tops and storage space. The brand-new Head, with its solid door, is fully enclosed for privacy. Aside from the new motor, the boat has a dual-battery system; one for engine starting, and one for cabin lighting and CD player. Both batteries are linked by way of a battery isolating/combining circuit. Once the engine recharges the engine battery, it then keeps the deep-cycle battery charged. After a charging source is removed, the batteries become isolated again. This prevents ever being stuck with a dead battery which would also mean no engine power. Garmin GPS/Fishfinder is newly installed. Purchase comes with 12 foot rowing dingy and all required safety gear. The MacGregor is kept inside dry storage in Bellingham.
