For sale is a 1998 Ranger 487VS Commanche that has just been totally redone with new carpet, new batteries, new seat and a new powerhead. What happened to the previous powerhead was the vacuum switch on the motor got a hole in it which allowed the #2 cylinder to run lean, and it got hot and dropped the retaining pin out of the piston. So therefore a full rebuild was performed and different pistons were used that eliminated the possibility of this happening again. Also because of this 2 cylinder head temperature gauges were installed to monitor both cylinder heads. The new powerhead currently has about 5 hours on it and it runs super smooth and starts great. After break-in the boat is capable of 71~72 mph with the 200 on the back of it.As for the boat, since the motor was out of commission the carpet and main seat were also redone over the winter and look amazing. The trolling motor is about 3 years old and is a Motorguide Digital Tour with 82 lbs which works as it should. The electronics with it are Lowrance HDS5 gen2 at the console and a LMS-520C at the front. Together these were about $1,500 and are in great shape. Up front the boat has the extended deck with the extra storage, right and left rod locker and a rod buckle (which are pretty nice to have). In the rear it has a built in cooler that can double as a bait tank, 2 large livewells and 2 smaller livewells. Also has a hydraulic jack for the motor that works great and an on-board battery charger. All in all this boat is ready to go and looks great.
