2012 Comitti (Riva,Chris Craft) 28 Sport At the height of the La Dolce Vita period in the 1950's boat builder Mario Comitti began building high speed mahogany launches on the shores of the Lake of Como in northern Italy. From the start his boats combined the craftsmanship, style and engineering genius for which Italy is renowned. The process of design evolution continues. The finest materials and latest boatbuilding methods are used to build the triple planked mahogany hulls. The best computer aided design ensures that the engineering integrity of each hull is beyond doubt. The new Venezia series now blends the beautiful lines of the wooden boats with a composite fiberglass hull and a mahogany deck. Today Comitti is the sole remaining Italian boat yard building a classic all wooden motor boat in hand laid mahogany. Fortunately for this tradition there are still enough connoisseurs and purists who will buy only the best.
