1976 Rival 32 Melos is a 1976 Rival 32, a boat well known for her seakeeping ability. Her current owner (author of "Safety Preparations for Cruising") singlehanded her across the Atlantic in 1987, leaving the UK and sailing to Spain, Portugal, the Canaries, and on to the Caribbean to explore for a few years. She is built of hand laid solid fiberglass in both hull and deck. Melos has full skeg protection for the rudder and a split underbody giving her both directional stability and maneuverability.
