With her bold 1990s styling and spacious interior, the Sea Ray 420 was considered a state-of-the-art, and while she has less beam than her predecessor, she was a big step up in luxury and appearance. Built on a deep-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, the two-stateroom interior of the 420 offers comfortable accommodations for six. The master stateroom includes a pedestal island berth as well as a TV/VCR and a privacy door, and a circular pocket door closes off the starboard sitting room, converting it into a private stateroom with a full-size bed and convertible upper bunk. A separate shower stall is found in the head, and the large galley includes a breakfast bar and generous storage. On deck, double helm and companion seats are forward in the cockpit, while U-shaped seating aft converts into a sun pad.

Built on a deep-V hull with prop pockets and a relatively wide 14-foot beam, the luxurious two-stateroom, two-head floorplan of the 420 Sundancer is an impressive blend of highgloss cherry joinery, Ultraleather seating, and designer fabrics. Privacy doors (not curtains) separate both staterooms from the salon, and the Sundancer’s full-service galley includes an under-counter refrigerator/freezer in addition to Corian counters and hardwood flooring. Topside, a flip-up bolster seat is standard at the helm, and the entire cockpit sole can be raised at the push of a button for engine access. Note the extended swim platform, split forward head, and underwater exhaust system.
