15 foot 9 inch Self built Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff built with New England craftsmanship from plans in 2013. Boat is built from cedar strips with a genuine Mahogany stem, white oak keel, white oak/mahogany transom. Boat is finished clear on the inside with two layers of 7lb. cloth and epoxy on the interior and has 24lb. cloth and epoxy on the exterior. The keel has a protective sacrificial strip of teflon laminated to the white oak. The boat was built using bronze boat nails and the strips are not only laminated with epoxy to each other but also nailed together with hot dipped galvanized and stainless steel nails. A rock solid boat built to last generations with minimal care. The exterior is painted with Interlux epoxy paint. (Hatteras Off-White and Bikini Blue). The boat comes with a JBT 1600G Comfab trailer but no outboard. The trailer has been used mostly for local travel and has made one trip from Atlanta to North Dakota performing flawlessly with its Tie-Down Engineering hubs which can be greased simply thru a grease nipple without dismantling the hubs. Trailer has a spare tire with carrier and a spare Tie-Down Engineering hub. This boat is worth thousands more but am moving and won't need it anymore. Boat will climb on plane and do approximately 15 knots with a 9.8 hp motor when lightly loaded but is better powered with a motor up to 25 hp. Boat and trailer have a current Georgia registration and I have the clear trailer title and boat Hull Identification Number paperwork in hand for a simple ownership transfer. The boat has an elevated forward deck which can be used as a place to install flotation foam and a rear seat to sit while steering the boat with a tiller steered outboard. Boat can be outfitted with a center console or with middle and fore seating by the new owner. A slide show of the boat construction is on my homepage at mikesboats dot com.
