This is a nice blue water cruiser that can be sailed right now. The interior needs some T.L.C. The mast was stepped several inches too far forward from the factory and does not sit directly over the cross member. I installed a compression post for the time being until it can be hauled out and be re-stepped, the back stay shortened and head stay lengthened. It has been that way for 35 years but, when I had the rig tuned the rigger noticed it. After I installed the compression post He finished the job. It is probably stronger the way it is now. To re-step the mast is a $1900 fix at the yard through Atlantic rigging. The new hot water heater needs to be installed but there is currently a loop in the line so you can use the water system. The boat is very roomy and would make a good live-aboard. The head sail and life lines should be replaced. The anchor bit or, Sampson post shows some rot on the back side and should also be replaced or repaired at some point. There is a soft spot in the deck just aft of the Sampson post due to the deck joint at the Sampson post leaking at one point. The quarter berth cushions need to be recovered and the sidewall of the starboard berth needs new veneer. Wires need to be run from the new DC panel to the mast step for the mast lights to work. All else has been wired. The Perkins 4-108 puts out 50hp at 4000rpm. It has over 7000hrs but, runs strong and well. It starts right up. The bottom was redone in May of 2012 with new barrier coat and bottom paint. There is a survey from 2012 as well which is on the boat. I will not be bothered with trying to fax it or email it to everyone who wants to see it. You can look it over if you come to sea trial the boat. You will likely get your own survey anyway. You will find the survey to be consistent with my description. The boat is ready to go but, I would address the life lines, head sail, anchor bit and mast lights prior to any blue water sailing. She can remain in her slip in MD until December 31 for free and at $350 p/m after that until March 31. The boat will be moved to the transient dock on April 1 if not relocated by then. All photos are from 2013 and 2014. I will deliver the vessel for a fee to be determined based on location. This is a Tayana 36.9 for less than $50k that needs not much work. Come on folks, make an offer! This boat is turn key and sound.
