When the Voyage 440 catamaran was introduced in 2001, it was the first multihull ever to be awarded Cruising World's overall boat of the year award. Typically, other 50' catamarans cannot do so. A redesigned mainsail with a broader roach and longer foot retain the same original sail area for optional sailing preformance. The boom was extended to accommodate the longer footed mainsail. To insure cool and comfort during the hottest tropical day, the air conditioning has been over built with more than 50,000 btu's and on many days only one of the three units is needed.
