Roamer is a 1930 commuter yacht of a bygone era - and resembles closely the 57' Ecco Flattop design. She was built in Baltimore, MD at the Ungar Mann shipyard for the owner. The finest materials were used - Honduras Mahogany, White Cedar, and White Oak. As a result of great woods, she still exists today, one of the few in original condition. Under present ownership, the boat has undergone a very large refit. The whole boat was stripped of paint and varnish and beautifully re-coated. The engine room was stripped of all old systems and repainted & the hull was rebuilt using the Kevlar Cutts method which was approved by the Coast Guard for passenger service. Two engines, Perkins Diesels, and two new fuel tanks and ready for installation. As well, the boat is ready for new plumbing and wiring. This is a great project with great potential. There might be three months of work remaining, and the owner is available if need be. Once finished, the boat should have a value of $250,000 due to its rarity. As a finished boat, Roamer could work commercially in US waters or be a great cruising home exploring rivers and bays - and even the European canals. The layout from the back to front. First, you have the galley, then you walk into the dining/ guest cabin which has its own bathroom with a clawfoot tub behind the mirrored door. Then, up the stairs to the "main salon/wheelhouse" which is 18 feet long. Then, forward of that, down the stairs to the master cabin with a double or 2 singles if need be...and a center mahogany skylight- also- 2 bronze round opening portholes on each side. Then, the master head and dressing room....and all the way forward is a possible 2 berth crew cabin with its own entry from the deck...or in the eyes of the current owner- this space would be used as a comfortable library room. As the boat has a liveable space over its entire length- their are other possible layout ideas. The present owner has worked as a boatbuilder, and could be of assistance. Purchase includes FREE winter storage until May 1 in a boatyard!
