1934 Eldredge-McInnis Sloop
Currently stored inside at Mason's Island Marina, Mystic, Connecticut. A handsome, well proportioned sloop designed by Eldredge-McInnis Inc. of Boston, and built by L.I. Snow, Rockland Maine in 1934. Easy to handle and the perfect day sailer or coastal cruiser for two or three crew. Miwarawa has been meticulously upgraded, maintained and owned by present owner since 1973. Substantial rebuild from 1998-2003 at Riverside Boat Yard, Newcastle, Maine. 25 HP Universal diesel (2003). Main and jib sails. Oak keel, stem, framing, floors and deck beams. Cedar planking fastened with Everdur silicon-bronze screws. Miwarawa differs with positive outcome in both sailing ability and stability from most if not all 26 Eldredge-McInnis sloops in having a three foot bow sprit and a lead keel (with bronze keel bolts). Also a quarter berth on the port side was added yet interior joinery (pine with mahogany trim) has been retained. Has fresh paint topsides. Sitka spruce spars also varnished this season.
