You are looking at a 1986 Bayliner 3870 Explorer Cuddy Cabin that has been owned by me for 10 years.. The only reason I am selling is that I am moving away from the Chesapeake Bay Area.... My family and I really like this boat. It has some cosmetic issues but cleans up nicely and can be used just like it is. The layout of this model is one of the best I have ever seen, and the trawler look makes it a good looking boat. It is powered by twin Hino (Japanese) diesels that run like sewing machines and are powerful quiet and economical. This boat cruises at about 15-17mph on plane. It has been well maintained and will be a great addition to any boating family.. Nowadays boats like this are $500k which is crazy...It is much better to own a boat in this price range and fix a couple things as you go. There are many cruisers that are gas or have big diesels in them that cost a fortune to run even for a short distance. This boat averaged about a mile to the gallon or better on plane. At trawler speed it really sipped the fuel. The hull is in good shape and shows well. In the survey I had done 10 years ago it was mentioned that there were some pock marks or blisters. These can be ground out out and filled or left alone. The surveyor told me it was common in this size boat and really didn't hurt anything. They have not gotten any different in the time I have owned this boat. There are some gelcoat cracks around which is normal...It needs a cleaning but will shine. There is a soft spot in the flybridge that has been there since I have had the boat. I repaired it some and it is not a problem. . Most of the wood around the exterior is teak. It is in good shape. The bimini canvas is in good shape. The inside is mostly original...It looks great. , there are no odors rips or tears... The teak inside is in good shape. There is a stove that I never used and couple year old marine refrigerator. The flooring in the sitting area was done by a friend and needs to be redone around the hatches. It is a Home Depot product and easy to get. . Look at the pictures...This boat would be fine to be used just like it is with a little cleaning. We all loved the layout of the 2 staterooms and the 2 heads. And the tub and shower. It has 2 ac and heat units that will make it really cold inside. We usually only ran 1 unit and it still got very cold. The Hino engines run great and have never given me a problem. They are powerful, but economical. . There is a Westerbeake generator that needs a minor repair. I believe it to be the wiring or switch as it won't do anything. It ran everything on the boat including both ac units. This boat is a very popular style cruiser. It will make a nice addition to any family for cruising or fishing. It will need to have the bottom powerwashed off as there is some growth because we haven't used it. I painted it last year and the bottom paint should be fine. . It is in the water at my house in Middle River Maryland 21221. Questions call me at 410-340-0008
