Bought as live aboard last July, planning on staying for 5 years, work is taking us back West sooner that we planned. New water heater, pressure water pump, air conditioner is cold. Twin 454 Crusaders and generator run strong. The unique hull design delivers the performance Hobies are know for – even flying a hull for the thrill seeksers out there. This boat was purchased August, 2014 to get our teenagers into sailing. It was only used during the two weeks we were on Cape Cod (approximately 5 times). Unfortunately, tubing and wakeboarding hold more allure, so we are switching over to a small powerboat. Sails are the Seabreeze color scheme. Being the brand new 2014 model, it includes all the upgrades that come with the new re-design including the improved rudders. The boat comes well equipped but we added: the Wing Seats ($1100 option); Trapeze wires and quick height adjusters with competition trap rings; composite hiking stick (long) with a stainless quick release, and a 2:1 downhaul. 2014 Load Rite Sailboat trailer (with mast support) included in the package. This trailer is equipped with larger rims and upgraded tires for better highway performance as well as bearing buddies for easy maintenance. This performance cruiser was built by Thunderbird Products of Decatur, IN in 1992. In the 8 years the current owner has roamed Narragansett Bay and the Islands, he has maintained her very well at E Greenwich Yacht Club & Marina in Rhode Island. In his words, "I wanted a safe, reliable vessel every time I went out, so if something needed to be done, it was done." There you have it in a nutshell! The main cabin is spacious, nicely finished and in good condition. Fully carpeted and color-keyed with mold-resistant nylon material. The full galley to the starboard opposes the dinette to the port with ample seating for 4 (maybe 6); and which converts to sleep 2. The large sink is molded into the counter-top and the faucets and board drain are in good condition. The forward berth will sleep two in a custom-shaped queen-sized 'modified-V' berth. Again, very clean and very good condition, as is the head with separate entrances from the forward berth and main cabin.
