2006 Donzi 38 ZFO Open The owner of this boat bought it in 2006 but in 2009 there was a gas tank issue and Donzi had to remake him a boat! So the boat is titled a 2006 but it is a 2009. Because of tax reasons, he would have to pay double tax if they titled it 2009. The boat was repowered by ProMarine in 2015 with triple 350hp Mercury Verados! There is only 150 hours! Donzi’s ZF line of high-performance center consoles are synonymous with great looks, proven performance, and unmatched versatility. While they are indeed hardcore fishing machines, the ZFs provide equal comfort whether they are tournament fishing, cruising, entertaining, diving, or pursuing any other activity. The 38ZFs are loaded with fishing features such as massive insulated, overboard-draining fishboxes, a 60-gallon illuminated livewell with high-volume pump system, nine standard gunnel-mount rod holders (with four more on the optional T-top), two removable coolers, and integrated locking tackle storage compartments in the console. Rod racks are recessed into the cockpit sidewalls, and there’s a cutting board and bait prep station with raw water washdown and a freshwater sink housed in the transom. Floor hatches with stainless steel dog-down latches allow access to substantial additional storage below deck. Yet, Donzi did not sacrifice comfort or style in the name of piscatorial pursuits. The 38ZFs are finished with upscale touches throughout. The sculpted, richly-padded drop-down bolster seats at the helm would be right at home on the sportiest high performance boat. The same goes for the wraparound cockpit coaming bolsters. There’s room to stand inside the roomy console with fiberglass inner liner, where a freshwater sink, shower, and head are housed. The cuddy version offers a forward cabin with a fiberglass liner for easy cleanup, and a large v-berth with storage beneath. Meanwhile, the open version offers even more storage and room to move, with a wide-open, clutter-free cockpit floor extending all the way to the bow with no step-up. A curved, tempered-glass console windshield offers great looks as well as protection from the wind. Donzi offers both an aluminum T-top with electronics box, spreader lights and canvas PFD storage, or a powder-coated aluminum arch with a massive canvas top to provide plenty of shade. Combine the ZF’s construction features with Donzi’s proven Z-Tech ventilated hull design, and the result is an offshore center console that is stable, nimble, fast, and dry. Expect speeds well into the mid-60s with triple 4-stroke outboards. However, just as impressive as the 38ZFs top speed is its rough-water handling.
