1988 Freedom 4JHBTE
The Freedom 45 Center Cockpit is such an easy boat to sail with its self tending jib and in-boom furling mainsail. What a great boat for a couple to handle - everything in the cockpit which provides excellent visibility to see those pesky crab and lobster pots, navigation markers and other boats. The interior accommodations are amazing and make for comfortable living under way or at anchor. The aft cabin features a center line Queen bed with its own head, the main salon has an apartment sized galley, two comfortable chairs, a beautiful large table and the forward cabin has comfortable guest / crew accommodation with its own head. Add all that to the superb stern platform for easy boarding from dinghy and dock, solar panels and wind generator, plus shoal (under 5') draft and you have a Bahamas cruising machine like no other.
Our listing C\:[esc] (don't you love the clever name!) has teak decks which are still in reasonable condition, and a dark blue hull. The current owners have had her in their care since 2008 and have made several trips up and down the east coast. The interior cabinetry was recently revarnished and the boat was re-powered with a new Yanamar 77hp turbo engine in 2013. Now on the hard in Deltaville VA, she is waiting for new owners to take her to turquoise waters.

1992 Freedom Yachts 45
"Vintage Port" is a rare, aft cabin version of the Freedom 45. Freedom Yachts enjoys a well deserved reputation as one of the better production boat builders in the world. This is particularly true of the Freedom sailing yachts built from about 1992 on. During that period, new ownership moved Freedom to a new location and noticably upgraded the fit, finish, and engineering and their sailboats came into a class of their own.
The Freedom 45 aft cockpit model features a taller rig and more sail area than the center cockpit versions. "Vintage Port" has had many custom upgrades performed by her experienced second owner who has sailed her on the Chesapeake Bay for 16 years. She has a carbon fiber rig, low engine hours, newer sails and a striking navy blue hull. Preliminary listing. Please check back for additional photos.
