1989 Grand Banks 42 Classic Imagine the Great Loop in a lovingly maintained 1989 43’ Grand Banks Motor Yacht. This is the relatively rare model—similar to the Grand Banks classic but with a “gunnel to gunnel” aft deck. This gives you a much broader deck for those evening sunsets and provides for a dramatically larger aft stateroom—with island queen, extra storage—even a desk for planning the next trip. The current owners have lived aboard for the last three years, under cover except when cruising. This vessel is ready for the next cruise!  The boat features galley up, with 3 burner propane stove with oven and three staterooms. The forward area boasts a traditional vee berth; immediately aft to port is a bunkroom with two” racks”-great for the kids or, in our case, grandkids. To starboard is a forward head and shower. Aft is the master stateroom with separate head and shower. Both heads feature newly installed freshwater heads which are absolutely odor free. All the comforts.  Below deck reside two of the legendary Lehman diesels with under 5k hours. According to American Diesel these engines average about 20,000 hours before overhaul. And they barely sip fuel. She carries 600 gallons of diesel (both tanks about 95% full) and easily goes 1,500 miles between fill ups. Both engines have twin disk transmissions, both replacements for the originals, and also known for long life. Finally there is an 8KW Westerbeke generator with about 1,200 hours. Full specifications are below.  Waiting for a new cruising family!

The mahogany construction of the original 42 Classic gave way to fiberglass in late 1973, and in 1991 the hull was lengthened and widened by a few inches to add additional interior volume, mostly in the forward stateroom and galley area as well as in the engine room. With her long keel, hard chines, and a deep forefoot, the 42 Classic ranks among the most comfortable and seaworthy cruising yachts in her class. Accommodations include a forward stateroom with a large V-berth, forward head with shower, a well appointed portside galley, starboard lower helm with deck door, large L-shaped settee with teak table, portside settee, and an owner’s stateroom with queen bed and split head and shower compartments. (Note that early models have single beds in the aft stateroom.) Large salon windows provide panoramic views of the water, and the small aft cockpit is ideal for line handling. Among many engine op- tions, twin 210hp Cat (or Cummins) diesels cruise at 9–10 knots

2004 Grand Banks 42 Classic "High Noon" is a beautiful example of a very late model 42 Grand Banks Classic.  With her preferred low hour 450 Cummins power, bow thruster, inverter, generator, electronics, etc. she is a stand out.  "High Noon" is maintained by a knowledgeable yachtsman and was originally built for a 3 time GB owner.  She was factory ordered with teak and holly cabin soles, a combination washer/dryer, an "L galley" with overhead dish storage, an island queen berth aft with desk and a split head / shower stall arrangement.  At the time, Grand Banks also revised the standard flybridge layout, supplying this boat with twin, independent helmsman's seats and beautifully molded flybridge L settee, teak table and opposing settee. With many features found in a modern day Grand Banks this boat feels likes new.  The teak decks are in excellent shape, the gelcoat shines, the engine room is well lit and clean and the brightwork has been tastefully minimized with covers for the cap rails and name boards which still show varnished.  All in all a beautiful boat that is a joy to show! "High Noon" will stay in the water until the end of October before being moved into indoor heated winter storage. Don't miss the opportunity to buy this boat now!  Call Chuck Meyers to set up an appointment or for further details.

2001 Grand Banks 42 Classic "Promises" is an impeccable example of one of the most highly regarded cruising yachts ever made.  She is hull #1461 of a grand total of 1,560 Grand Banks' 42s made since production first began in 1965.  Kept predominantly on the brackish waters of the Chesapeake Bay her current owners purchased "Promises" from us back in 2007.  They have maintained the boat with an open checkbook, have full records and she is ready for her next owner to get right on board and enjoy! Powered by the twin 375hp CAT 3208's, "Promises" benefits from the most preferred engine package for those seeking reliability, economy, and the flexibility to actual pick up and run if weather or scheduling dictate the need.  At 34,900lbs she cruises quite efficiently and comfortably between 8 and 12 knots and at wide open throttle she will see speeds reaching 18 knots. "Promises" has seen continuous annual updates and additions to her inventory throughout her lifetime and she is well equipped with a full list of cruising, comfort, and safety features. She if outfitted for the serious cruiser with watermaker, large battery banks, massive anchor and chain ground tackle, and a fiberglass bottomed tender.  She is perfect for cruising from the Exumas to Maine and is ready to go now!    Within 20 minutes of BWI Airport and convenient to Baltimore, Washington, and Annapolis, "Promises" is not to be missed by any serious GB buyer and is a pleasure to show!
