***SALE PENDING*** 36' Wooden Ketch, L. Francis Herreshoff Nereia design. Maintained by a local Shipwright. Beautiful and fast. Modern electronics including Auto pilot
She hails home to Americas Cup Harbor in San Diego, California. Designed by the renowned Naval Architect Herreshoff who was successful in producing contending yachts in America's Cup Yacht Races.
This 1984 Herreshoff Nereia 36 is sail-ready.
Herreshoff was a naval architect who stepped away from his "H-class" models and designed the Nereia which is a class in itself that is designed for a class of speed but holding to the functionality of the yacht for a family outing.
She has a low profile free-board creating a dynamic appearance for speed and a sail plan for best windward performance to succeed in the weekend races. Yet, she is functional above and below deck space for the coastal sails and family weekend stay out to the Channel Islands.
This vessel was modeled after a yester-year design but she is equipped with modern technology and rigging.
She is cared for and maintained by the current seller with no resistance or deferred maintenance. The seller uses her as a daily sailer and local sporting regattas.
She is owned by a hobby shipwright who does not defer any order of maintenance and constantly has kept her "ship-shape", the owner confirms.
She measures with the bow sprit 44'-10" length.
