She boasts modern rigging for weekend sails or race regattas and can be handled with minimal crew. All modern navigation electronics and instrumentation for proper sail trim and safe passage. The seller has fitted her with autopilot controls. Icebox not working. The propane line to the stove has been disconnected due to not using. Stock #309183 36' Wooden Ketch, L. Francis Herreshoff Nereia design. Maintained by a local Shipwright. Beautiful and fast. Modern electronics including Auto pilot She hails home to Americas Cup Harbor in San Diego, California. Designed by the renowned Naval Architect Herreshoff who was successful in producing contending yachts in America's Cup Yacht Races. This 1984 Herreshoff Nereia 36 is sail-ready. Herreshoff was a naval architect who stepped away from his "H-class" models and designed the Nereia which is a class in itself that is designed for a class of speed but holding to the functionality of the yacht for a family outing. She has a low profile free-board creating a dynamic appearance for speed and a sail plan for best windward performance to succeed in the weekend races. Yet, she is functional above and below deck space for the coastal sails and family weekend stay out to the Channel Islands. This vessel was modeled after a yester-year design but she is equipped with modern technology and rigging. She is cared for and maintained by the current seller with no resistance or deferred maintenance. The seller uses her as a daily sailer and local sporting regattas. She is owned by a hobby shipwright who does not defer any order of maintenance and constantly has kept her "ship-shape", the owner confirms. She measures with the bow sprit 44'-10" length. Reason for selling is no longer used.

1926 Herreshoff AIDA For an enjoyable read, and to gain an understanding of what this yacht is, please read: AIDA, N.G.Herreshoff's Finest Shallow Draft Yawl,  by Maynard Bray.   Comments below are from Steve Corkery, who managed the last sale of AIDA: The classic wooden boat field is small and most everyone involved with these boats knows or at least is knowledgeable about every one else. When AIDA was sold the fact that the owner, seller, restorer, broker, and sail maker all had known each other, worked together, and mostly sailed together before was really fortunate. When and if you have this combination in your dealings you are one lucky person. This is what I had when AIDA was last sold.. Now add to that one of N.G. Herreshoff's nicest sailing shoal draft boats ever designed and built, and you have a true historic masterpiece. This is AIDA, nothing more has to be said.

1956 Herreshoff Marco Polo 56 Corten steel frames create the bones of this lovely L. Francis Herreshoff Marco Polo 56. Over these steel frames traditional mahogany plank-on-frame construction techniques have rendered a strong, ocean going, family cruiser. This vessel, shortly after completion sailed her family on the 1957 Trans-Pacific race, then known as the "Honolulu Race". The family reports they came in dead last as the matriarch aboard refused to allow the "boys" to have the sails up at night! Since that time she has sailed the Northwest waters until in 1996 she was hauled for a major remodel and design change of the cabin, decks and interior, all performed by Legendary Yachts in Washougal, WA. Dry stored since that time the sellers report she needs some rigging, both standing and running, navigation electronics plus some hull work. The president of Legendary Yachts thought about $50,000 would put her in excellent sea-worthy condition again. This is clearly a capable world cruising vessel. These boat details are subject to contract.Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
