The Hull is constructed of single-planked wood with an external ballasted keel. The planks are secured with copper rivets. The deck is constructed of fiber-reinforced plastic over plywood. The Seller reports the sails to be either Crisp or in good condition, and the Mizzen has had some recent repairs. The Motor in this Mariner looks rough on the outside, but it's reported to run very well. Stock #397197 Great coastal cruiser or liveaboard for the the anxious shipwright looking for a classic sailing vessel This William Garden Designed Mariner 40 is an awesome wood-planked Ketch that was sailed a lot by its previous owners. At just over 40' in length, the Mariner has a forward stateroom with V-berth and a hanging locker. Just aft of that is the head with toilet, sink, and shower, complete with 2 entrances. The Mariner originally came with a 120-gallon water capacity. In the Salon, the U-shaped dinette converts to nice sized berth for two, and the settee opposite pulls out for a quarter berth. There's also a quarter berth aft to starboard to give you a sleeping capacity of six. Another Hanging locker is under the Nav station. The Galley is well equipped with a propane stove/oven, microwave, and refrigerator. The engine onboard is the Perkins 50-hp diesel. Up on deck, you'll find all lines run well to the cockpit, so you can single-hand this boat if need be. The sail inventory consists of the Main, Jib, Mizzen, Mizzen Staysail, and spinnaker. (The photo under sail is the Mariner before the hull was painted).

Francis Herreshoff Nereia design. Maintained by a local Shipwright. Beautiful and fast. Modern electronics including Auto pilot She hails home to Americas Cup Harbor in San Diego, California. Designed by the renowned Naval Architect Herreshoff who was successful in producing contending yachts in America's Cup Yacht Races. This 1984 Herreshoff Nereia 36 is sail-ready. Herreshoff was a naval architect who stepped away from his "H-class" models and designed the Nereia which is a class in itself that is designed for a class of speed but holding to the functionality of the yacht for a family outing. She has a low profile free-board creating a dynamic appearance for speed and a sail plan for best windward performance to succeed in the weekend races. Yet, she is functional above and below deck space for the coastal sails and family weekend stay out to the Channel Islands. This vessel was modeled after a yester-year design but she is equipped with modern technology and rigging. She is cared for and maintained by the current seller with no resistance or deferred maintenance. The seller uses her as a daily sailer and local sporting regattas. She is owned by a hobby shipwright who does not defer any order of maintenance and constantly has kept her "ship-shape", the owner confirms. She measures with the bow sprit 44'-10" length. Reason for selling is no longer used.
