Caro is a 2004 Maxum 2500 SE Express Cruiser. She has been extremely well cared for in the last 4 years. With only 260 hours, she truly is 'like new,' in all respects. She has been from Hartford to Newport; from Montauk to Greenport, and handles most types of water with ease. She cruises at 30MPH with a top hop of 40MPH, powered by a Bravo III Duo-prop outdrive with many new parts. Cruise speed barely sips fuel from her 70 gallon tank, feeding into a 5.7 Mercruiser that gets her up on plane incredibly fast. With a LOA of 26' and a beam of 8'6", the boat is one of the largest trailerable boats available. Kept in fresh water on the Connecticut River, this vessel follows a long line of Maxums with a fantastic layout for entertaining, weekending and even week-long trips with the family. She has ample seating for 7 up top, while 4 can sleep comfortably down below. With a NEW camper canvas enclosure, complete with bimini pole wraps (to preserve the canvas) and screens, the canvas is in top shape for 3-season boating. Although a 2004, her graceful lines are reminiscent of a much newer boat, and she often is mistaken for an '07 or later. A walk-through windshield means easy access to the foredeck, where one of two anchors resides on the boat with enough chain and line to anchor anywhere. In addition, her stern anchor is kept in the stern locker along with a shorepower cable that powers her ample air conditioning and heating system, and a custom television cable line that feeds directly to the entertainment shelf inside. Inside she boasts a kitchen that will suffice for any meal (assisted by an outdoor gas grill, also included with the boat), a head with working shower and four storage cabinets. Towards the bow, U-shaped seating will seat 7, along with a removable wood-finish table not shown but included with the boat. The entire seating transforms into a berth with three strong slats and a drop-in cushion, also not shown but included with the boat. The galley features enough storage for many meals and snacks; the deep refrigerator/freezer holds cold items with an adjustable temperature, and the deep sink will hold icy beverages or serve clean-up. Underneath the cockpit is a full bed with sit-up room for nighttime reading, with its own ventilation hatch. Most of the boat's systems - including the refrigerator - are powered by both shorepower and 12-volt, serviced by a control panel just inside the cabin. Below the electrical panel is a brand new Bluetooth radio with remote control. Back at the dash, an easy-to-use fuse breaker panel sits below the steering wheel (no fuse has ever popped in four years). The steering wheel tilts for the captain's comfort, and the captain's seat moves fore and aft. To the right of the captain is a new Mercruiser throttle control with drive tilt at the thumb. To the lower right of the dash is a brand new Standard Horizon VHF radio and trim tab controls with a 12-volt power supply. Above, modern switches operate wiper, navigation lights, courtesy lights to light up the cockpit, bilge pumps, depth sounder and horn. Modern, light-up Faria gauges give you all of the visual controls at any time of day or night. The carpeted cockpit contains a wet bar with storage. The boat comes with a fully operational chartplotter/GPS display with a custom bracket visible in the photos. All systems on the boat work except for the trim gauge and speedometer (which is just a matter of cleaning the unit once out of the water). The boat truly is 'like-new,' with a variety of NEW systems in place in 2014-2015: Camper canvas with screensA/C pickup impeller systemBluetooth RadioVHF RadioCap and RotorCombination Starter/Deep Cycle BatteriesDrive CouplerDrive Fluid HoseDrive Spline ShaftSpark PlugsOil SenderU-JointYoke ShaftIdler PulleyFan BeltGimbal BearingFuel HoseAnchor Engine StarterThrottle ShifterCarburetor Tune-UpSump PumpLED Interior Lighting Reasonable offers will be considered.
