1979 Mirage Kirby
The Kirby 25 was built by Mirage Yachts and designed by Bruce Kirby. Although it has a small cabin and basic interior accommodations to sleep 4 people, the Kirby 25 has to be considered an out and out high performance racing boat. Many people regard the Kirby 25 as the Canadian version of the very popular J/24. And for good reason. The design of this Kirby is directly related to the J/24. Mirage Yachts thought it had worked out an agreement to build the J/24 in Canada, but the deal went sour. As a result, Mirage Yachts commissioned Bruce Kirby to design a racing boat in the same size range as the J/24 which became the Kirby 25.
