1984 Morgan Nelson/Marek 45, For 22 years this boat has given me the joy and excitement of costal cruising (from Clearwater Florida to North Carolina and the Bahama Banks) and offshore passages (Bermuda, Azores, Portugal, Gibraltar, Lesser Antilles, etc). Im now semi-retired, working abroad, and the time has come for me to find her a new homeShes in excellent condition having be under constant care of Jack Hoch Marine in Daytona. In 2002 I upgraded her for a three-year European cruise, adding many safety extras and heavy duty models of standard equipment (stepping mast and upgrading rigging, battery boxes etc., adding reinforced dodger, enclosures for cockpit, and extra cockpit winch). While in Europe in I had one of the best yards in Europe, Sopormar in Lagos Portugal, professionally peel the bottom and replaced it with West System as well as replace all through-hulls, most sea cocks, and the standing rigging with heavier European wire. The Nelson/Marek design is an ideal balance for comfort (67 headroom in the main salon, etc) and fast passages: while we are not racers, she took First-in-Class for the 1999 Daytona to Bermuda TransAt race and 3rd place overall in the 1998 Gulfstreamer Daytona/Charleston raceNote: John E. Marrocco (an Accredited Marine Surveyor) recently completed an in & out of water survey which is available for for prospective buyers; the price includes the few items on the surveys repair list (e.g. the Speedometer which I have not used in 15 years) being repaired or the price discounted based on the buyers wishes.>>>>If you are ready to buy and want to find a comfortable, professionally maintained, sea-worthy sailboat, please call and leave me a message (I???m out of the country and my phone service is intermittent) or send me an email ([email protected]; I will arrange for Eric West, a professional charter-delivery Captain, to show you the boat ??? no dealers please.
