She is a wonderful example of true pride of ownership. The photos reflect her true, current condition and you will not be disappointed. This is a very impressive vessel!!! Below deck, the main salon is clean, spacious and brightly decorated. The dinette area consists of port and starboard settees with a center-line mounted folding table. The port settee converts into a double sleeper for two guests, while the starboard sleeps one. Forward of the salon is the v-berth with dual access headroom with a marine head, sink, and mirror. To starboard mid-ship, the galley is very spacious and well equipped with plenty of counter space and storage. Along with a NovaCool refrigerator, there is also an extra-large 12V DC icebox, dual basin sink with hot and cold pressurized water, a Hillerange gimbaled 2-burner propane stove with oven, and an Emerson microwave. Directly across from the galley is the navigation station, which would also work well as an onboard office. The companionway aft of the navigation station leads to the engine room and main stateroom. The main stateroom has a queen-sized berth with recently upgraded memory foam mattress and an en suite private headroom with a marine head, sink, vanity, mirror, and bathtub/shower. It is very unusual for a vessel of this size to have a full standing room stateroom with a queen bed accessible from both sides! The woodwork and cabinetry are very impressive and in excellent condition. All of the countertops, sink basins, and faucets in the galley and both heads were replaced in 2014/2015. There is also teak and holly sole flooring and LED lighting throughout. With seven opening hatches in the deck, 12 opening ports, and two fixed windows in the cabin, there is plenty of natural light and airflow below deck. Anyone wanting to continue to live aboard in Hawaii or just relax at the dock will appreciate the Dometic Marine air conditioning system, which keeps this beauty VERY COOL, easily maintaining 66 - 68 degrees F during the hottest days of summer. With the full-length Sunbrella awning up, it alone can easily keep the boat's interior 10 degrees cooler! The Dometic Marine Air unit also has a heating mode if desired. The 44HP Yanmar diesel has low hours, starts easily, and runs smoothly. It's in remarkably good condition, especially for its age. The most recent diesel inspection was in 2018. The desirable center-cockpit design has ample cockpit seating and storage as well as a spacious aft deck which would be perfect for a large sun pad. She is sailed regularly and all sails, standing rigging, most of the running rigging, sail covers, dodger, bimini, etc. appear to be in good to very good condition. All lifelines were recently replaced with the hardware being lifted and resealed. The deck is very solid with no soft spots and the non-skid paint looks practically brand new. Significant upgrades since 2015 (approximately $50K value) include: -- Dometic Marine Air Conditioning system -- Full Boat Awning, Sunbrella Canvas Sun Shade -- Memory Foam Mattress in the Aft Stateroom -- All Safety Lines Replaced; Hardware Lifted and Resealed -- Installed Galvanic Isolator -- Added Inboard Shore Power Panel With 2 Shore Power Circuit Breakers -- Installed Second 30 Amp Shore Power -- MasterVolt PowerCombi pure sine wave inverter charger 50A/1200W -- New Water Heater -- Entire Steering Line Assembly Replaced -- Engine Control System on Helm and down to diesel Replaced -- Diesel Drive Shaft and Propeller Replaced -- New House and Starter Batteries (2 West Marine 4D AGM batteries for the house bank in 2019, 2 West Marine group 27 for the engine start bank in 2019) -- Fuel and Fuel Tank Cleaned -- Fuel Gauge Installed -- Fuel Tank Access Ports Added -- Magma Grill included (exterior mounted.) -- TV (Flat Screen) with great pivot/mounting system. The condensate drain sump for the Air Conditioning unit also serves as a secondary bilge pump. All of the thru-hull valves are Marelon valves, which is significant because Marelon does not corrode. Extras include: -- Several miscellaneous spares, including engine mounts and window seals/gaskets for all hatches/windows. -- Some spare mooring/anchoring lines and sheets/halyards. -- All life jackets and pillows/cushions on board. -- Sunbrella covers for rails and winches topside as well as the helm. -- Cockpit cushions (rarely used.) The Vessel has been maintained well, and has installed many new components, or has back-up systems ready to put in service. All rigging is serviceable, and she is ready to sail. The electrical system was re-wired in 2010, and the upholstery was redone in 2009. Woodwork needs to be brightened up - it is starting to show some age. The Canvas needs repair and cleaning. Bottom was painted in 2005 with an experimental barrier coat to rectify notorious Morgan blistering. On next haul-out in 2008 seller applied five coats of paint and there were no blisters. On the last haul-out in 2012, there was absolutely no blistering. Owner is planning another haul-out this year. Haulout in 2021 showed only a few blisters. A great deal of time and money was invested preparing the boat for a trip to Hawaii. Although this trip had to be abandoned for personal reasons she is still ready for the voyage. Stock #089662 Wonderful Liveaboard or Turn-Key Bluewater Cruiser! New Engine (161 hours!) New Standing Rigging (Used 10 times!) $55k+ in Upgrades & Replacements! This classic full modified keel Morgan 33 Out Island must be seen to be appreciated and will make a wonderful liveaboard or blue water cruiser. She is ready to go! Since 2006, the seller has put $50k+into her in upgrades and replacements and has all records and receipts. With a newer engine with very low hours, new sails, and more, this sturdy and reliable sloop is ready for new adventures! This beauty has a pedigree of having sailed from Florida to Oregon via Cape Horn. If you have been thinking about your special trip to Hawaii, Mexico, or just around the coastal US or Canada but don't want to have to invest in all the gear for a long-distance voyage, this might be the perfect boat for you. The seller believes the standing rigging was replaced prior to purchase in 2006 but there is no documentation of this. The rigging still looks to be in great condition and has only been used about 10 times since replacement. The Morgan Out Island is a classic design from a builder with a tradition for building rugged, go-anywhere sailboats with a large volume of living space. If you don't know the Out Island history, this is a classic boat with an excellent reputation for a quality build. Its full keel and shallow draft make it a great choice for cruising the Islands, and the storage and headroom make her practical as a liveaboard as well. If you are looking for comfort at the expense of some sailing performance, the Out Island is for you. Having said that, the current owner of this vessel has had her point 30-35 degrees into the wind in 12kt wind while making 7kts over the ground with about 15 to 20 heal. The new sails have only been used about 10 times since purchasing. The quarter berth can sleep one and the V-berth is comfortable to sleep two. There is also a custom enclosed entertainment center. Reason for selling is change in life circumstances.
