The hull, keel and rudder all appear to be solid. The bottom paint is in good condition and needs only slight touch ups. The seller spent $17,000 to update rigging over the past 3 years replacing all standing rigging, including chain plates, lines, winches, and life lines. Air conditioning is not currently working, and gauges are not working. Teak needs to be sanded. The hull needs to be buffed and waxed. The vessel appears well cared for. Newer aluminum fuel tank. The cabin teak is in good condition throughout, some screw bungs missing. The teak deck has one more life and can be sanded to bring it back. Dacron main sail and genoa are 2014. A secondary main sail is included. The main sail cover needs a zipper replaced. Perry design was commissioned and built at the famous Ta Shing boatyard for Seattle-based Flying Dutchman International who successfully produced the BABA 30 Bluewater cruiser. Featuring a 5,000 lb full keel, upgraded aluminum mast and a Monocoque fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) laminate hull with plank lines that give the effect of a wooden hull. To this day, the Baba 30 is still considered one of the finest and highly sought-after blue water cruisers. A great sailing boat that is cutter rigged. The entire cabin is lined with excellently maintained teak. It features a V-berth and 2 settee berths, and starboard aft berth; accommodates sleeping for 5. Ambient interior light with the opening bronze ports with a teak butterfly skylight in the salon provides plenty of light and ventilation. The galley has a deep double sink, 2-burner stove/ oven, and large ice box. The navigation station is located starboard side and includes a VHF radio and 12V power. The aft cockpit has ample room for captain and crew with a compass, helm wheel and engine controls. There is a tiller for emergency steering or if you want to sail her by hand. The Yanmar diesel engine is the preferred powerplant for the Baba 30, considered a reliable, low-maintenance motor with a cruising speed of 6 knots and a range of 900 miles. Rigging includes a roller furling jib and full-batten main along with a staysail and spinnaker. Self-tailing winches, main sheet traveler and lifelines ready it for any adventure. FRP with cored decks and cabin top, teak overlay on decks, cabin top and cockpit seating. The deck is covered in teak and provides the surest grip available. This sailboat has received extensive, regular care and maintenance while out of the water. Overall, about 95% of the interior has been refurbished. Since being on the hard, the boat has been climate-controlled and covered for protection. For the sails and rigging, the mainsail is tired, but the staysail and flying jib are in good condition. The drifter and spinnaker are in good shape. The storm trysail and storm jib have never been used. All new chainplates were installed in 2000. The standing rigging was replaced in late 1994 -- and was removed and stored indoors since 2004. The original windlass was rebuilt in 2000 and has not seen much use since that time. On the deck, the teak side decks have been removed, repaired, and repainted with a non-skid surface. The teak decks around the cockpit were removed, rebuilt, and are ready for reinstallation. All hatches have been rebuilt and restored to their original condition. The restored hatches are currently being stored indoors. In addition, the companionway hatch/turtle has been rebuilt, the handrails are new, the Dorade boxes have been rebuilt and reinstalled, all port lights have been removed and re-bedded, and the hull has been given five coatings of Interlux Interprotect and a new bottom coat of paint for protection. While on the hard, the engine has been regularly started and run until warm. For the plumbing, all water, fuel, vent, and sanitation hoses are new. Thru hulls have been removed and rebuilt with new rubber, and re-bedded with all new hardware and pads. Also, a new battery charger was installed in 2014. In the galley, the stove has new propane gas hoses, as well as a new Trident gas control and detection system. As this boat is equipped for long-distance cruising, there are many spares aboard, which include a seawater engine pump, alternators, filters, injectors, and more. The boat also comes with a full set of Brownell boat stands. Restoration and replacement work includes: All exterior hatches have been rebuilt and stored indoors. New holding tank as well as all new plumbing to it and overboard system. All new fuel system. All fresh water hoses new. 100 gallons of new fresh water tanks. New propane lines and detection system. Interior 90% redone and varnished. Thru hulls all removed rebuilt and reinstalled. All port lights removed and resealed with 5200. New handrails. All deck work rebedded. This 29 foot sloop is in good overall condition inside and out. She could use a little tlc and a good cleaning would go a long way but overall she and all her components appear to be and are reported to be in good working condition. This MacGregor 65 Pilothouse is a project boat and needs a new owner or crew to finish the restoration. As of the time of the listing, the BUC value of this boat in restored condition was over $150,000. The boat has weathered many storms and has been docked for several years. The Yanmar engine was run recently and the generator produces power, the owner confirms. The Yanmar is not wired to the helm for ignition. The boat will need to be rewired and plumbing work will be needed to re-install a sink, verify water lines, install freshwater pumps, and likely, rebuild or replace toilets in the heads.
