1968 Morgan Centerboard sloop This Morgan 34 has been extensively refinished, she is a beautiful classic sloop that can take you and your family anywhere in comfort and safety.  She was built as a cruiser/racer with a full keel and 5200 lbs of ballast which gives her a very comfortable motion in almost any conditions.  At the same time she is a center boarder which only draws 3' 3” board up which allows you and your family the ability to explore quite secluded anchorages which many other boats simply cannot get into.  She is very easy to sail and could be a comfortable day sailor or a weekend cruiser.

1968 Morgan 30 Centerboard sloop Here is an opportunity to purchase one of Charlie Morgan’s best efforts for the correct buyer, a buyer with some carpentry skills and some serious foresight. Of course this is the 1968 Morgan 30 lying in Stratford CT. The Morgan 30 is a centerboard sloop with a reputation of being a steady sailor with good sea keeping qualities and more ballast than most boats. They are prized by the offshore pocket cruising crowd as being well found and having a good heart. This Morgan 30 is a work in process. She has been on the hard for the past four years undergoing some work. The good news is that the heavy lifting has been done with a soda blasted bottom, new rudder shaft bearings and well, new sea cocks, Beta Marine Diesel, new aluminum fuel tank, mast refurbishment, new standing rigging, and refurbished centerboard. Not to worry, there is plenty more to do for a competent shipwright. She needs a new roller furling gear or forestay depending upon your preferences. There is plenty of cabinet work to do below, enough to hone your skills with a jigsaw and a plane. You will have the opportunity to design your own interior lighting, learn how to wire the tank tender or the shore power. Again the heavy lifting has been done, but now there is the grunt work to do. An opportunity for some, a challenge for others, this is a great opportunity to get in on a wonderful shallow draft cruiser where sweat equity counts. When she is done, she will be a shallow water dream, perfect for the Chesapeake or the Bahamas.
